I remember Aunt Joanne before you children were born when I was but a child myself. I recall her voice and her beauty.
I could not know or understand any family turbulence. we were a large clan!
Fortunate I am to have been able to join in your birthday celebration for your Mom with cousin Mary.
I learned of Aunt Joanne's large life and peace commitments! i captured her voice and beauty again to bring forward in family and new generation stories never to let her retire!
Aunt Joanne, I honor you! Thank you.

She was the definition of courage and putting your Faith into action! We all should have the courage to stand up like she did but I'm not sure I could. She helped me when I was having a rough time transitioning back to the United States from serving with the Peace Corps in Bulgaria for 27 months; all the cultures she's experienced and all the many times she's spent time in other countries, she understood why I was having trouble because she's been there. We need an advocate like her! I will miss your advocacy and courage! Lisa Miller

JoAnne, I will always think of you as a wonderfully fearless, joyful traveler with your Christian armor, helping out in the middle-east! I only know you with a smile on your face. God bless you.

Dearest Sharon, Pete, Mary, Katie, and Joe, I know your hearts are heavy, but I am sure they are also full with the love your mom gave you and the impressive legacy she left you. I was fortunate to have shared last Christmas dinner with your mother at Sharon's house. My brother Jack was with me. I think that Jack and I talked 3 straight hours with JoAnne without taking a break. We talked politics and world events, travel, books, and music. We could have easily kept going but did not want to neglect the grand meal that Sharon had laid out for us. JoAnne lives on in each of you. She had a full life and was obviously very proud of every one of you. May you find solace in that at this difficult time. My love and heartfelt sympathy, Candice and brothers Ed and Jack and son Edward and daughter-in-law Di
