I knew Jodie for several years. I met her in the cancer resource room at MGH. I greatly admired this noble woman who rose to the challenges of the "dirty" hand that life dealt her. I was always rooting for Jodie and I have just now learned of her death through a mutual friend and I was deeply sorry to learn of this big loss to humanity.

Jodie was a very special person.. She loved her life and really loved her parents. Jodie loved the ocean and swimming , kayaking and just being by the water. We all will miss her. Tony and Jodie will have a lot to talk about once they meet..RIP ❤

This message is from me your Little Miss Tessa I wanted to say thank you for being my mommy for the time we had together, all though it was short I was proud of what I had accomplished with
you momma Pres. I remember at first I couldn't walk on a leash, but it sure didn't take long and we were walking all over Boston, we got to see so many places and we met a lot of new furry friends. It was so neat that I was in training to become a Therapy Service Dog and I enjoyed our trips to the hospital, it seemed like everyone just loved to see me and especially my wagging tail that sure made a lot of people smile I will always remember how very proud you were to have me in your life and I will always look up and I know that you will always be watching over me so take care and I'm waving my tail to you that I miss you so much. Paws to Paws to Paws to you . Love Little Miss Tessa.

We were so excited and happy as we looked forward to meeting pres and Little Miss Tessa for the first time later this week during a trip she had planned to Sarasota. Sadly, it was not meant to be. Like so many others, we knew and loved pres from the Maximilian Schnauzer Ville chat. She was always so thoughtful, kind, caring, helpful, knowledgeable, and funny too.

To pres - Thank you for your friendship. We miss you terribly. You will remain in our hearts forever. (APK in FL)

To Mr. and Mrs. Grossman and family - We send our thoughts, prayers, and condolences.

Although I had never met Jodie in person, she touched my life in a very special way. I knew her as "pres" on SV chat. She helped me get through some difficult times. Our chats were both serious and comedic. She was a true friend. I will never forget her. I will miss her always.

My sincerest condolences go out to Jodie's family and to all the lives she touched.

What a gift she was! How she will be missed! She helped me so many times when I couldn't sign into chat, etc. Pres had a way of making each of us feel that we were her special friend. I wonder just how many people she had touched. God bless you dear friend!

Every time I would check on the puppies at SV, I would always see Pres name on the chat. She would always post the updates on what was happening with Vera & puppies. I never met Jodie, but I felt like I knew her. It is hard to believe she was taken so soon. RIP dear Jodie (Pres), you will be missed. So sorry for your loss.

I never met Jodie face to face, but I miss her light everyday. She brightened many more lives than I'm sure she ever knew. I am sure her light will continue to shine on SV. I am so sorry for your loss.

I never had the opportunity to personally meet Jodie (Pres) from the SV Chat, but felt I knew her and was delighted to visit briefly whenever she was on Chat. She was just that wonderful person you wanted as a friend. She is missed by many, and thank you, her parents for having such a special daughter for all of us to love. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Grossman, I'm sure you are very proud of your daughter, Jodie, for her accomplishments, volunteer work and overcoming life's obstacles. She lovingly referred to you as her "parenteral units". I only knew her as Pres through SV where she was an admin on chat. She was always very kind, patient, helpful and respectful to all of us. She is greatly missed and was much loved. I send you love and strength to get through this difficult time.

I can remember when I first started working at SV. I was told not to go into chat by my predecessor I ignored that suggestion!

I learned quickly that Jodie...AKA Pres knew a lot about what was going on or what should be going on at SV. I thought how neat is that for a person to be that devoted and not get a dime of compensation. This person must be truly devoted to SV for some reason. Many times I asked her if she ever slept! People say that you can't have true friends over the internet. That people hide behind their computer screens. That you can't possibly know a person. I beg to differ. There are people like myself and Jodie that are exactly the same in person as behind their computers. Jodie had so much compassion for the dogs. She was always there for me to let me know when something wasn't right. A quick text, email, or phone call...made me smile that she cared so much. I found myself even updating her on small happenings...puppies going for health certificates or mommies going for X-rays. She was always appreciative, to know that she was indeed part of the team. She was there for me with the loss of Delilah. She was always there when I needed to talk. Unlike so many people that chatted with Jodie on a daily or weekly basis, I had the opportunity to meet her. She was so happy to bring her parents to meet Peanut as well as other SV favorites. One dog was dear to her to see and visit with though...Tessa. Jodie loved Tessa. Tessa is one special dog. The second time I had the opportunity to visit in person with Jodie was the day I took her LMT to her. Her face lit up when I met her at the airport with Tessa. I can tell by her posts on FB and her fantastic stories of Tessa's daily adventures in chat, that Tessa was her life.

I will miss you my friend. Both on a professional level and a friendship. You meant a great deal to the SV team. Our hearts are shattered in a thousand pieces. I know you will always be watching over the puppies. Goodbye my friend...

I never met Jodie/Pres in person but chatted with her lots on Maximilian Schnauzers chat line. She was always pleasant to chat with. She always gave us encouragement when adopting one of the dogs and loved seeing pictures of them after we adopted one. I know she loved my three adoptees Heidi, Katrina, and the one and only Peanut. She will always be in our hearts as she will greatly missed in Schnauzerville. Love to you all as you go through this difficult time

I've only been a browser on the Schnauzer's chat site, but I so much appreciated Pres's comments and wisdom. I'm deeply saddened for Pres's families...by birth and by love of these doggies and devotion to Vera. The quote is an all time favorite!

July 15, 2017

I was not fortunate enough to meet Jodie in person, but in my conversations with her on the SV chat, I came to know her as a sweet, kind, funny, and caring individual. When she began posting photos of Tessa around Boston, I was treated not only to a jolt of joy from seeing a dog so happy and loved but also to floods of memories of my college years at BU triggered by the locations in those photos. She touched so many lives and made so many people's days better on a regular basis, more than I think she ever knew. We will miss her.

I can't say enough of how she impacted so many of us, from her sincere calming words to her quirky one liners. We lost a fine lady. I find comfort knowing how happy Tessa made her and how they both were loving their lives together. I will miss our late nite chats but will always cherish the memories we made. Imagine, in this day and age, a friendly, helpful, informative, non judgmental 'voice' on the other end of the keyboard...that was 'Pres'. Jodie was a pleasure from day one for me, always willing to lend an ear, help out the chatters in any way she could. And oh how she loved Tessa! Really all the dogs from SV benefitted from her love and continuously updated knowledge. She will be missed more than she could or would ever have imagined. A lovely Lady, genteel, comforting to all. May the knowledge of knowing how loved Jodie was and how far reaching that love went, provide her family and friends with strength during this time of sorrow. Thank you for sharing your beloved Jodie with us at SV. JonesBeachBaby

We often chatted of things related to "Bahston" as I grew up close by. I was there on the day she left us, so close yet so far. I wish we could have met up, it would not have been that hard, but she was needed in heaven. She will be missed by so many. I am so glad she had Tessa with her these last 4 months. To the family and friends of Jodie: When words are hard to find, I'm thinking about you with my heart and remembering you in my prayers. It's amazing what an impact Jodie had on so many of us who knew her only through the Maximilian Schnauzer website. She gave us glimpses into her life, and we could tell what a special lady she was to countless people. There are no words to adequately express my deepest sorrow over her passing. Like the rest of the SV family, I loved seeing her adopt Tessa, and being able, through FB, to join in on their activities together. I'm so glad "Happy tail" Tessa already has a loving home. May the God of All Comfort hold you close and sustain you in all your coming days.

My friend and I knew Jodie only anonymously through the Schnauzerville website but we feel her passing as though she were a close friend. Jodie impressed us with her quiet generosity in helping look after generations of pups, and on the chat made us laugh with her lightning wit. In the last months, we glimpsed Jodie's beautiful soul in the way she showered love on precious Tessa. We will miss her.

We extend our deepest condolences to Jodie's family and to all who loved her.

July 14, 2017

I'm just at a loss for words. I didn't know Jodie (pres) personally, but I, like many others knew her through SV chat. Even though I hadn't known her for very long, I could see how much of a caring person she was. She was always there to help and answer any questions she could. Even if they had already been answered. I will miss seeing her name in chat and reading of her many adventures with her fur baby, Tessa. It was such an honor to have gotten to know the person she was. Amazing, helpful, caring, kind. Those are just a few words to describe her. I pray for her family and friends to find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

My relationship with Pres was thru Maximilian Schnauzer chat. I didn't have to know her name or intimate details of her life. It didn't take me long to know what a unselfish, giving and compassionate person she was. We all were so excited with her as she anticipated the adoption of her sweet Tessa. Then sharing all the days after as she made a new life for her. I hope our testimonies about your Jodie gives you another insight into what a wonderful person she was to us all. Jodie was a person I knew as Pres on the LPC chat. She was a caring, helpful, intelligent, knowledgeable, moderator who was always there to answer questions and provide info about the Maximilian Schnauzer dogs and puppies. Jodie was a cyber friend that I cared about. Each morning I looked for her "gm sv" on the chat. I knew things would be OK because Pres was there. When Pres received Tessa from Schnauzerville, we all cheered and so enjoyed seeing her pics of Tessa on Facebook. Jodie and Tessa bloomed together. They attended a Yappie Hour together the night before. Jodie reported that they had a good time at the hotel. Tessa was loving life in Boston with Jodie.

I shall miss Jodie so much! She was a caring friend without ever having met her. She was a dynamic person and will long be remembered for her many talents. My heartfelt thoughts are with her family.

I knew Jodie from volunteering at MGH with her. I am so sad to hear of her passing. She was such a wonderful friend.

To my friend (Pres) Admin on the Maxamillan Schnauzer Site.
Oh how I'm going to miss our chats and the many times I asked
so many questions regarding the puppies, you always were there
to tell me my answer. We had so many laughs of the many times
that the puppies were laying and always saying look at that one it needs a belly rub. I was so excited when you welcomed Little Miss Tessa home to be your buddy in Boston. I will miss seeing the pictures that you have taken of the many places that Tessa has been to. I'm sure that Tessa will miss you as much as I will miss seeing your name on Chat. Prayers to your family during this time
of loss. Hugs to you Pres . Paws to Paws from all the puppies from SV.

Jodie possessed a sharp wit, keen intelligence, devotion to her loved ones and a bit of mischief in her heart. My loving thoughts to her family, friends and all those touched by her aura and presence. Love Coleen Fitzgibbon ( Manchester-by-the-Sea) and fellow Museum Docent.
