On July 8, 2022, Jody Halvorsen passed away in her home from cancer. Whenever Jody walked into a room, her beautiful smile accompanied by the adorable dimples in her rosy cheeks would light it up. You couldn't help but smile when you saw her! Her beauty beamed inside and out! She was so brave, very strong, always considerate of others, and was extremely thoughtful. We will forever cherish the many beautiful moments shared during her lifetime. She was a beautiful and kind woman. Jody passed away in her home from cancer.

Jody Ellen Halvorsen was born on December 3, 1961 to Jill Corinne Kerns and Richard E. Halvorsen in Los Gatos, CA. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and great aunt. She was easy going, very witty, always smiling, and exceptionally bright. She enjoyed the outdoors, animals, and going to her son, Blake's, baseball games! Jody touched the lives and hearts of so many.

Jody lived on the Sacramento River in Redding, CA until 1972 when her family moved to Igo, CA. There she finished Elementary and Jr. High School at Igo-Ono School. She attended 9th grade at Nova (where her dad taught Geography and Earth Science) and graduated from Shasta High School in 1979.

After High School Jody went to Chico State (1979 to 1984) and earned her BA in Business. She moved to Denver in 1985 and used her degree to manage packing and shipping companies (Craters and Freighters & Pac Mail). She also opened her restaurant "Crepes" in downtown Denver. She married Johnny Wilson in 1988, and son, Blake, was born in March 1990. In 2011 she moved to Newport, OR where she was a manager at The Elizabeth Inn. She also managed at Walmart. She leaves behind many very dear friends in Newport.

Forever Friends...
Ladies on the Hill

Suki Meyer

July 20, 2022

No matter how much you think your mind and heart are prepared to say good bye to someone you love dearly, it still just hurts. Jody will always be forever in my heart and always on my mind. She is already dearly missed and was deeply loved and adored by so many. Jody had an extremely quick and funny wit. She brought joy and laughter to every occasion. I will miss that, along with her contagious smile, so much. Love and hugs my little sister. I love you.
