Joe Caroff Obituary
He designed the iconic James Bond logo, turning the codename 007 into the handle of a gun.
He is also being remembered for his movie poster art – he designed memorable posters for "West Side Story," "A Hard Day's Night," "Cabaret," and many others.
Caroff was a U.S. Army veteran.

A brilliant graphic designer who will be remembered for his iconic work for the James Bond films. He was the number one artist in the industry. RIP Joe, we will miss you.

Never met Joe, but have admired his talent for years. As a retired Graphic Designer, his clean designs and typographic sensitivity were inspirational. His `Manhattan´ Poster was a knockout!

I´m a graphic designer and was a huge fan of his work, especially West Side Story, Cabaret and the James Bond movies. He was so talented and creative. I send my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. RIP Joe.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Joe Caroff and join in celebrating his long life. I was a friend and colleague of his wife Phyllis, and enjoyed the times when I could chat with Joe and learn details about his work. His humility and good humor won me over to say nothing of his artistic achievements.
I also extend the condolences of the Board members of the Helen Rehr Center for Social Work Practice who deeply appreciate his generous gift of time and talent.
