Not sure what to say?

My Joe Darling, it will be one year this Saturday, 01/05/13, that you left us. How i miss you so very much!We had 41 years and 10 months together. A very short time..How those years went by so quickly. You were such a wonderful husband, and such a great father to our four children and a caring grandpa, as Vinny would say, "grandpa BUSTER", and Momo's quote, "Joe is such a great son", that you were. Not to forget our Nacho aka:littleman, Chacha "us girls gotta stick together" and Coco aka"Mo,they also miss you. They were your buddies who loved cuddling with you on your recliner, watching TV. No sooner you get comfortable, they were ready for you to get up and open that slidding door to let them outside..haha, that sure would bother you at times, but they were your babies and you loved them! My Joe Darling, there is not a day that goes by that you are in my thoughts....love you forever and a day..until we meet again, your Ruthie

I want to share a funny story about my dad. I was around 10 years old or soo. My dad decided that he was going to be the one who was giving me my hair cut. I was standing as still as can be because i didn't want to be cut with the scissors. Most people would cut bangs with scissors right? Well as you all already know that my dad did not fall under that "most people" category. He was in a category all to himself. So back to the story.... he had combed my bangs to make sure it was going to be the perfect cut. What happend next was funny. He said, "ok, don't move." I was waiting for him to pull out the scissors and start snipping away. That didn't happen. Instead, he plugged in his clippers. He put the clippers against my forehead to cut the bangs. Not only did he cut my bangs....... that's right he took out most of my eyebrow too. It wasn't funny to me at first, but heck what else is there to do but laugh about it. That was one of the funniest times i will forever remember. I will miss my dad.

Joe Sr. is not just the grandfather to my kids but he was my father as well. He would never hold anything back when it came to letting me know what I need to learn in life.

There are three things that stand out in my mind and they are both loving moments and funny moments. The first on was when Joe Jr. and I found out that we were pregnant with our son Vince. That summer we all went out to the lake to camp, boat and spend some time together. I was big at that time just three months away from my due date. Both Joe and Ruth said to my no boating so I had to stay and watch the camp well they went boating. When I got into the water and lay on the inner tub the first thing that my father in-law said to me was “LOOK BABY SHAMU”. Aye that pissed me off, but at the end of the day I was laughing with him because he was right I did look like baby Shamu.

That same summer in August 2, 1996 I was taken to the hospital after my doctor said that I had bronchitis. When I got to the hospital they decided to go ahead and induce me. Joey called Big Joe and told him what was going on. At that time my mother in-law was working the night shift. Big Joe, my Aunt Connie and my sister was there. It was 12:30am when I told Big Joe to go home and get some sleep since he had to go to work in a few hours. It was 1:28 am when Vince decided to come out to meet everyone. When we told Big Joe this he was mad and said “see I should have just stayed and not listen to you two.” When Joe and Ruth got to the hospital and saw Vince the first thing that he said was “he looks like a little cricket”. From that point on Vince was known to grandpa and grandma as “Cricket.”
The other thing that stands out in my mind clearly is when he saw his third granddaughter Naomi. When Joey and I told everyone that we were going to name her Naomi Angelquic Crowder Big Joe said, “hey Nay Nay. ” To this day we still call Naomi, Nay Nay.
Joe A Crowder Sr. will and always be my Father In-Law . I love you and I will miss you but I know that you will be watching us from up above with everyone that has passed before including your first born granddaughter Madeline Lynn Crowder.

I have never been so excepted by a more loving family as the Crowder's. Ruth and Joe are like my own...I may not have the title of an in-law, but #5 means more to me than any other title I may have acquired. I love you pop, and you will be missed greatly..

I will never forget..whether I was driving to work or driving home from work, almost everyday, I would see you in your big truck or you would spot me in my car. I would get so happy that I had a chance to look on the other side of the freeway just in time to see this nice looking Peterbilt with" Joe Crowder trucking" on the driver's door. I'd reach for my phone sooo fast to call. Sometimes you would beat me to it, but the first thing you or I would say to one another was "I see you, I see you!"..made my day. I love you daddy! Meet you on the other side someday

Saddens me greatly to hear that Joe has left us. Some great memories of him and learned some tricks from him as well. Prayers for the family. The big road will be a little darker place without him. Godspeed Joe hope the good Lord gives you a Pete with a long hood. And please save me a seat.
