Miss Judy,
I am sorry for your loss. I know how caring you are with your students so I can only imagine how much you cared for and looked after your dad. If I can be of any help, just ask.

Judy,
We have worked together for only a mere two weeks, but I see your dedication to your students and know thereby, your dedication to your family.
I offer you my deepest condolences and empathy, having experienced a similar sequence of events in the loss of my parents in 2010-11.
If there is any insight that I might offer it is this: cry when you need to cry. God gave us emotions, but through His grace we are not as the world, destined to be controlled by them. They are to help us. If we try to hold them in, we damage ourselves and those we love.
So, when you need to, take a few seconds or minutes and weep a bit, otherwise it will turn to unintentional sharpness or even meanness.
You will responsively laugh when something sparks and triggers a memory of the good times and maybe shed a tear. It is a process.
In addition to your family you have your "class family." They are a responsibility that no one but a teacher can truly understand. I know how heavily it all weighs on your mind. Just seek the Lord and follow His direction for the time you need to take in order to be the best for you and your loved ones. Otherwise, although you are "present" you may be lengthening your healing.
As you said in so many words, work, especially in times like these, is a blessing. The walk ahead is a fine line, a balance, that none of us walks the same way. Just listen and obey. He will show you your path.
Your plight hits so close to home that I hope I have not been presumptuous. I will pray for you as the LORD brings you to mind.
Thanks for your patience with me and what you have taught me these past few weeks.

Tommy,Charles and girls.
Sorry about "Slim". When I was working at Hood Motor Company in the late 60's I would stop by his store for lots of laughs about golf and his friends.

One morning your Mother fixed breakfast for several golfers and it was very good. After breakfast it was a day of golf and was it fun. I think Steve Campo and "Air Hammer" was on that trip plus some more.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
