A true icon from Castroville has gone to heaven RIP I remember getting a few hair cuts from Joe

My family moved to Castroville in 1952 from Klamath Falls, Or. Somewhere along the way my Dad (John Pesce) was a regular customer of Jess's. There were many Sundays the Estrada family would be seated in the same area as mine and my Mom's. Always a warm greeting. I knew Diana in the 70's when we had a group of Moms who would meet once a month at one of the homes for lunch and fun with the kids. Thanks to both Diane and Jess for wonderful memories and shared moments. Dana I am so happy to share moments with you as a friend of the Castroville Library. I send my deepest thoughts and prayers to all the Estrada family. Jess has left a deep hole in your lives. Thank God for the blessings of a wonderful man that gave so much to your lives.

The Estrada house was a gathering spot for us North Salinas High School classmates of Joe (class of 1974). Jess always greeted us warmly as if we were one of his peers. With a twinkle in his eyes and a wide grin Jess would share a story or an interesting fact. Jess will be remembered fondly by Joe´s friends: Ben Tolentino, Ron Stanley, Frank Soria and me, Jeffery Lore.

From long ago, my father Carlo Costa loved Jess like the brother he never had. A very special, sweet man. His son Michael sends heartfelt wishes of condolence.

Rest in peace uncle Jess thank you for all the great advice you have taught me throughout the years you will be missed . Until we meet again . Nephew Tony
