I met Mr. Guidry as we walked in our neighborhood. We came across each other usually once every week or two. At the time he was 93 or 94. We exchanged greetings and a little news. It always blessed me to see him and share a few words with him.

I did not know Joe Guidry but after reading his obituary I want like to contact his family. I too was born and raised in Abbeville, La. I remember having cousins named Guidry. After marrying I moved to Texas with my husband. My Dad also participated in the Normandy invasion. Last year I was privileged to visit all 5 landing beaches in Normandy.
May Joe Guidry and all America's Veterans rest in the arms of the Lord.

Dear Cindy and family,

I know that kind words can help but they cannot change the sorrow you are feeling now. Please know that my family and myself are thinking about all of you. Your Dad was a good man, an amazing man and I am so glad I knew him. Sincere kindest regards, Linda Allison

Wish I could be there with the rest of the family. I would like to say he was an amazing man. I use to always walk into his room and he would ask me, "What you know". I would always respond, " I dont know anything, I am waiting for you to tell me something". I would always try to get him to tell me some military stories, but he would not talk about. I dedicate this tour to him and all the sacrifices that he made. Being here in Afghanistan can never compare to the challenges and things that he went through during his time at war. I am truely blessed to have know him and to be part of this family. My heart if with you on this day. Misty
