I wanted to express how joe is missed!!! It was such a critical election. Joe would have made people go vote by his powerful words. It seems like, are most important people leave us to soon and we are left with Trump for president. I will never understand this. Iam sure you Joe are walking around heaven free of all this foolishness. Praying for peace and well being over your wife and family Gone too soon! The Walker family

Ive learned about Joe Madison from my younger brother who told me about the Black Eagle, who I didn't know who he was talking about....I started listening back in the early 90s and never stopped until his death in late 2024. Joe Madison was my favorite talk show host on XM...he was also a great man, teacher, motivator, and activists. Joe Madison will be missed tremendously.

I would like to say, Joe was very instrumental in my life eventhough I didn't personally know him...but I felt that we knew eachother, I've called his show from time to time and I enjoyed his response s on various subjects. I was sad at first when he died, but I'm over that and now, I feel very honored and proud to have been one of his daily students, I feel he took us to school each and every day.

I discovered the Black Eagle back in the early 2000s. I was hooked instantly by his passion and his ability to get things done and not just talk. Thank you for sharing your passion and gifts with the world. Thank you for putting it where the Goats could get it. My condolences to his wife and family.

When I first got my XM satellite radio, I was listening one morning on my way to work. I liked what I heard. I goggled his name and there was a picture of him and Jesse Jackson. He had weight on then, I remembered then who he was. I started listening every morning. I even called in and had the opportunity to speak to him. I even bought a Black Eagle watch. Sending my condolences to Mrs Madison and their family. He is sorely missed.

Thinking of you especially today the immediate family of Joe Madison. All days during the grieving process are hard however, this day (June 16, 2024) has to be filled with so much emotion. A previous co-worker and I used to listen to the Joe Madison Show a lot; she shared w/ me that she worried after her passing, for her adult children on the years when Mothers Day would fall also on her birthday! Sadly, the first Mother´s Day after her passing in fact fell on her birthday! The irony! We his `radio´ family continue to grieve as we move forward; hearts heavy with an irreplaceable void! #Happy heavenly Birthday #Happy 75th #Happy Father's Day #MadisonStrong

Grew my children up listening to you. Even the issues pertaining to single motherhood and the pipeline from school to prison my children was taught and my 2nd child fell into course exactly what you use to sermon about. Even tho widowed when my kids was small, his own choices and last year his drowning - u were right. Complex n complicated. But from value of positive men needed in homes, systemic racism, decline of morality etc.... you are missed.

Sincere condolences to Ms. Sherry, The Madison Family, Darryl, Sam and the Madison Interns. Mr. Madison was my favorite talk show personality. I woke up every morning anticipating Mr. Madison´s presentation of the current events of the day. His style was very unique. The Black Eagle enlightened me as a listener on a variety of topics pertaining to the significance and importance of education, civil rights, social justice, human rights, voting rights, housing issues, economic issues and the importance of knowing and understanding our Black History and how our federal government operates.
Thank you for sharing Mr. Madison and his priceless wisdom with the world. When presenting the news, he always "Put It Where the Goats Could Get It." The Black Eagle was One-of-A-Kind. He will truly be missed.
God Bless You and Your Family during this time sorrow.

My husband and I travel a lot. During our trips whenever he gets tired of driving I take over. He has to listen to music when he drives. I have to listen to the news just someone talking. While I was browsing, looking for that voice or topic I needed. I heard Mr. Madison. In just a short time of listening, I felt like my mind was awakened to a lot of things I didn't have a clear understanding of. I kept waiting to hear his name because I was hooked. I felt smart and intelligent. I shared and still do share all the information I received with others. I am very grateful and appreciative to have known Mr. Joe Madison. I still listen every morning to his very powerful voice, Joe Madison Classic every single morning. He's on my JBL Speaker so I can hear throughout the house. The Families and everyone connected are in my prayers

Our family bought a 2016 CRV and it came with Sirius XM radio. I stumbled upon channel 126 and never left. Mr. Madison was set as my 6am wakeup call and is still there. I'm better because of you Mr. Maddison, Ms. Sherry, Sam, Darryl and interns. Sincere condolences to the Maddison family as we all turn the corner of life without the Black Eagle physically being here. We, your eaglettes will proudly continue the fight!

I am still in shock, saddened and heart broken about the untimely passing of Joe Madison, the Black Eagle Host on SiriusXM and to think of the fact that it´s over 2 months that Joe hasn´t walked on the surface of this earth. It is a devastating and painful blow to his profession of broadcasting, democracy and humanity.
I never met him, but I saw him on TV in the past and I began listening to his radio talk show in 2023 and I really loved the show because it was thought provoking, informative, analytical, educative, challenging and confrontational.
On behalf of my family, I extend our profound and sincere condolences to Mrs. Sherry Madison, the 4 children, his grand children, his great grand child, the Black Eagle Team namely Sam, Darrell, the new female intern and the whole Urban View Family.

Joe kept the Legacy of the Movement moving. I was born at the height of the civil rights movement in 1962 so learned a lot from the Black Eagle how the WWII generation fought for our rights that today I am benefitting from. The information he shared with his radio audiences was like bring in a classroom each show and I would literally take notes when I could to share with the residents at the nursing home I work at which would stimulate a lot of comments from them. Sending heartfelt condolences to EJ and the Madison Family.

Im late but I´m really disappointed that the Media hasn´t really covered his passing. Joe Madison will go down in History with the likes of many of our Black leaders. There are monumental achievements he took on like the Black Heritage Museum, his fasting for human rights, lets not forget his cuss jar which the funds went to charities. Mr. Madison will truly be missed. I will always remember he question "What are you going to do about it"...

He never let anyone give information that had no references. Even his famous quotes gave credit before he said it . The most interesting thing he said is the difference between conscious stupidity, most of all as a truck driver who listen to that station since the POWER days..he didn't take no BS from anyone. I love you and miss you Joe. Damn. I'm still in shock. The torch was never passed but he lit our torch to carry on the run for excellence.

Condolences and prayers forever for this precious family of Joe Madison "The Black Eagle", my heart is still aching for your wisdom, knowledge and education on this world. The first thing I did every morning was thank God for seeing another day and then listen to you. You have made such a big difference in my life, living in a small town in West Virginia and being the 1st AA Locomotive Engineer with Norfolk Southern´s Pocahontas Division. I always wanted to call and tell you the struggles I went through in my career and I know you would´ve been proud and encouraging to keep moving on. It was a very long 22 years. I still get up and listen to the Madison Classics, I plan to do something about it and run for city government seats in my area. You have made such a difference in my life and I will hold and carry the banner on my end. Your listening family misses you tremendously and there will NEVER be another "Black Eagle". RIParadise KING JOE MADISON. We love you and are eternally grateful for you. LOVE you Mr. Madison

Thanks Madison Family for sharing your Husband, Dad and granddad with us, 5 days a week, 4 hrs per day, for 20+ years. My late Mom gets to enjoy his talks now. He changed this country immensely, and since February 1st, I haven't had any desire to share with my other national talkers, daily news stories anymore since Joe's untimely passing. I received at least 50 texts and phone calls over the 48 hours after the sad news broke, because if you really knew me, you know my politics and favorite pundits. May God bless and continue to heal the Madisons and NOW, "I know what I am gonna do about it."

It has taken me a while to write this. When I heard that Joe had passed, I yelled, "no!" I then ran to my bedroom in tears. I was in shock. I felt like a beloved member of my family had passed. I was praying that he would recover and come back to us as before. But God had other plans. You see, Joe Madison changed my life profoundly. I remember trying to get through the daily hassle of the morning commute on the beltway. I came across his show while flipping channels. This man thinks like I do! He is the real deal. I was hooked. His morning show got me through the last two years before I retired which were very challenging. Joe always said that he could say what we wanted to say but couldn´t because we were at work. And that was the truth! I retired in 2014 and Joe continued to be a part of my mornings. I learned so much from him. He was an activist, a masterful teacher, historian, and truth speaker and seeker. He was courageous. He possessed a deep love for his people, but his love extended beyond race. I will miss his passion. I will miss his instruction. I will miss starting my mornings with him. My condolences to Miss Sherry, his beloved wife, who was such an inspiration to the listeners as well. Sherry and Joe together were the epitome of a black love. It was a joy to hear their banter when Sherry was on the show. May God bless her and their children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. May God´s grace and blessings continue to rain down on them all forever. I also want to thank Darryl and Sam who tirelessly worked to make the show so special. Yes, I will miss Joe, but I know that his spirit lives on. We love you Black Eagle! Fly high! I will strive to keep my torch lit. In honor of your legacy, I will put it where the goats can get it" by saying to all: "VOTE PEOPLE!"

Joe Madison aka the Black Eagle was the quintessential God Father of the air waves. I learned more in those four hours than I would have reading most books. This was our daily fix of truth, power, accountability and tenacity. I was more excited about the SiriusXM subscription which was my gateway to the his show than the purchase of my vehicle. I was walking the earth uninformed and had no idea how enlightened I would be tapping into my teacher, professor and orator every morning. No one can do what he did. He is irreplaceable. Humanity has lost a valuable asset and for us we had better get on the bus and proclaim the phrase 'What are you going to do about it' Apathy be dammed! Let's honor his legacy by lighting the torches of others until God calls us home!
