Joe Santa Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2025.
Joe Santa, 51, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Austin, Texas. Born on February 13, 1974, in Rochester, New York, Joe lived a life defined by deep love, boundless generosity, and an unwavering sense of self.

To know Joe was to witness someone who could fix anything-whether it was a broken machine or a broken heart. His hands were as skilled with tools as his heart was with people. He had an uncanny ability to mend what others thought unfixable, often leaving those around him in awe. "You know how to fix that too???" was a phrase heard countless times over the years-a testament to his remarkable intelligence and resourcefulness.

But Joe's gifts extended far beyond the mechanical or technical. He was a man of immense emotional depth and sensitivity. He felt things fully and freely, never shying away from expressing his emotions. His authenticity was magnetic; he lived every moment as himself-unapologetically and without compromise. That rare strength of character earned him the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path.

Joe's kindness knew no bounds. Time and again throughout his life, he selflessly offered help to those in need-not for recognition or reward-but because it brought him genuine joy. Whether it was lending a hand during hard times or simply being present for someone who needed support, Joe gave of himself completely and without hesitation. He did this in his marriage, with his friends and with his fur babies till the very end.

He loved deeply and generously. His affection was warm and constant, his kindness ever-present. He had a special place in his heart for animals-all animals-even those that might have posed a threat to him. His admiration for them reflected the same open-heartedness he showed to people: unconditional and full of wonder.

Joe's wit brought laughter into every room he entered. His intelligence could be startling at times-sharp, insightful, and always surprising-but it was balanced by an easygoing charm that made everyone feel at ease in his presence.

He was not only an extraordinary man but also a devoted husband and the perfect dad for their babies-a role he cherished with all his heart. In every way that mattered, Joe embodied love: fierce yet gentle, strong yet tender.

There is no one like Joe Santa. The world is dimmer without his light-a light that touched so many lives in ways both big and small. He leaves behind not just a hole but a crater in the hearts of those who loved him.

He will be missed forever-and loved just as long.

Share memories with each other. Remember the good times, he would want that.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, Joe would have been overjoyed to help the critters in his passing. Joe's favorite charities were AustinPetsAlive.org, Austin Boxer Rescue, or the Puppy Food Bank. Helping the animals would be the perfect send off to an extraordinary man. Any gift small or large would have been greatly meaningful to him.

Dear Trine,

You and Joe lived next to my mom for many years. I know how well you both took care of her. One of the kindest and bravest gestures was when she lost her phone (standard lol) and he tracked it down to a transient encampment. Then he went and got it out! I also have always appreciated your kindness towards cats and I know how many you and Joe helped. I loved seeing different cats outside my mom´s house when I visited.
My mom has missed you both since you moved because you were more than neighbors-you really were true friends. She talked about all the kind deeds and favors Joe did for her and always wanted to repay him some way. It´s rare to come across a person like Joe and I´m so glad my mom got to live next to you guys for so long. Sending lots of love. Joe must be enjoying seeing all the kitties and animals who crossed the rainbow bridge.

Love,
Jessica

I feel very blessed and lucky to have known such a wonderful man. I shared a birthday with Joe -aka Hubs- and we had a lot of the same "quirks". He spent hours on a HOT sunny day teaching my son how to work on his car-priceless. I pray you can feel all the love that those of us who are missing you have in our hearts. Love-Dani, Quinn & Prince.

Joe. You were so awesome, funny,a great guitar player and singer. I loved the time we had hanging out and listening to Tori Amos. You were a good friend. I now have a hole in my heart. Love you. May you show the people on the other side what a awesome person is. RIP.

I met Trine at my dentist appointment several years ago. We got to chatting about what Joe did for a living and I mentioned that he may have the skills I needed in my business (software). She setup a meeting with Joe and I and I knew immediately this was my guy. I hired Joe and have been more than impressed with his many skills as nothing was beyond his understanding or doing. I couldn't have hoped for a better employee and friend. I had hoped to pass the business on to Joe and maybe other employees. Joe's passing has left a hole in my heart and I will miss him dearly. We are all better off having known Joe and sharing his love and only time will ease the pain of his passing, though never entirely. Farewell my friend.

The memory I want to share is all the times I got to hear Joe greet dogs. He was always so excited to see his canine friends and his enthusiasm was contagious! The dogs all loved him right back.

My heart hurts for all that knew and loved Joe, but especially for Trine. I'm so sorry, friend.
