Joel was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I worked in the same office as Joel for several years. My husband, Kenny, worked more closely with him. He admired Joel and considered him a good friend. My heart goes out to his family as I know that he will be greatly missed.

Joel was so quiet at work. Always kind. I would try to get him to smile when I took photos for retirement albums but he was focused on his work. Such an interesting life. I wish he would have shared those stories!

I worked with Joel at the USPS. He was the kindest man you would ever meet. Never a negative word about anyone.
Joel carried my route on my days off and was the best T6 I ever worked with. He wasn´t just my coworker, he was my friend. One of a kind
Heaven gained an amazing man! May he rest easy in Heaven

Joel was always such a quiet little turtle at work, USPS. He kept to himself and I remember when I first transferred to the Rock Hill office from Gastonia, everyone just said he didn´t talk- he was there to do his job and go home. From that day forward, I made it my mission to crack his shell and make him talk and laugh with me. It took some time, but I did it. From then on every morning I would make it a point to talk to Joel and make him laugh or smile. He always got so bashful. He called me a ballerina. Joel was so sweet & would stay out as late as needed to make sure all the carriers got back to the office off the street. He´d put his little hat light on and just go to it. He was definitely one of a kind & I loved him very much.
