Joella Joy Agard

Joella Joy Agard passed away on May 27, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana. She was born on August 2, 1997, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Joella's life began and unfolded in the heart of Louisiana, where she formed lasting connections with those around her. A loving mother, sister, and daughter, Joella passed away too soon at the age of 27.

Joella's life was marked by both deep hardship and deep love. She navigated an early childhood that was often challenging and uncertain. In adulthood, she faced the strongholds of addiction, abuse, and depression, but through it all, she remained someone who loved fiercely and cared deeply for the people around her.

She found joy in music and movies, and she lit up when she talked about her children. Mother to Penelope McManus, Declan Keen, Genevieve Kent, and Ezra Agard, she tried her best, carrying a special tenderness in her heart for each of them.

Joella is also survived by her parents, Ruth and Jerry Agard; and her sisters, Reba Case, Rachel Agard, and Julie Agard. Her family grieves not only the loss of her presence but the many things she still had left to give.

Though Joella's journey was not an easy one, her life mattered deeply to those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her love for others, her compassion, her contagious sense of humor, and her unique ability to make you laugh or smile even in the hardest of circumstances.
