Dear Susan, Debbie, Dawn and Jeffrey, We were just notified about your father passing. I just wanted to say how sorry I am and how much I admired both your mother and father. I had no idea your mother passed a few years ago. Your father was one of the most mechanically minded guys I've ever met. There didn't seem to be anything he couldn't fix. A man of many talents is an understatement. The pictures that you posted of his life were amazing. There is a saying that the WWII generation was the greatest generation. In your fathers case, that saying falls short of describing your father. My brothers and I are truly saddened about your fathers passing. God bless.

when I hear (GOD BLESS AMERICA) I will always think of John. the picture in his obituary is how you would see him, always with a big smile loving life. John and my dad each had their little workshops at their houses. if John was not at dads shop tinkering , dad was at johns. they were always designing something. their last adventure I remember was building radio controlled sailboats. When Elsie and later Dad passed away John and mom remained close friends and companions. we would go biking with them and could hardly keep up . John loved sailing. when he and mom came to n. y. in the summer we would take them sailing and john would always wind up with the wheel. once he got it you weren't getting it back . John would always have some great stories about his time in the merchant marine during ww11 or his cross country camping adventures with his family. one of his best traits was talking. he could talk. his favorite topic was his family especially his grandkids. John will be missed by all who have crossed his path. GOD BLESS AMERICA

I will always remember John when I hear(GOD BLESS AMERICA). the picture in his obituary is how you would always see him, with a big smile, loving life. John was a great companion and friend to my mother, Marie Reeve for the past 9 years, they kept each other going. they had more energy than I could ever think of having. when john wasn't telling great stories of his time in the merchant marine or their cross country camping adventures. he was bragging about his kids, and always about some new achievement his grandkids have done. he will be missed by all who have known him.

John was a wonderful man! His love of life was enjoyed for nine years with my mom, Marie Reeve, also of Punta Gorda. Our family had many happy times with John and my mom. They enjoyed dancing, music and traveling together. We all loved John. " Happy Thanksgiving every day" was one of his favorite slogans. Another was " This is paradise" ( He loved Punta Gorda) We miss you John!

Grandpa John was such an inspiration to all of us. He taught us that a positive attitude and treating people with humor, love, and dignity is all you need for a fulfilling life. He gave the the best stories, the best heartwarming smiles, and the best hugs. I'll miss you John and my love goes out to all of your family.
