It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of John Aspinall, a vibrant personality and icon of our village.
John was a great people person who always took the time to have a friendly chat, a bevy with the boys and integrate with the village activities. With his shock of light hair, he was easily spotted in a crowd and his unmistakably rich dulcet tones added to his distinctive presence.
One sensed that he had a heart of gold even as his penetrating stare bore into one's innermost soul! I particularly admired his penchant for speaking his truth at a time when such an attribute was considered an unpopular deviation from societal etiquette. A gentleman with courage, determination and a true Defender Spirit, John's passing is a painful loss for all who have had the unique privilege of having met him.
