John Aura, 50, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near St. Peter.Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, October 9, and will continue on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.To sign the guestbook or to leave an online condolence go to: www.mvfh.org.John is survived by his wife, Carol Aura of New Ulm; stepdaughter, Stacy Ranweiler of New Ulm; stepson, Steve Griebel of New Ulm; sons, David and Dustin Aura of St. Paul; grandchildren, Brian and Abby Ranweiler of New Ulm; nephew/godson, Brandon Wolf; sisters, Jeannie Aura, Patricia and David Delvin, all.of St. Paul; brothers, Matthew Aura of Detroit Lakes, Mark and Jennifer Aura of Bloomington, Michael and Wendy Aura of West St. Paul; mother-in-law, Myrtle Wolf of New Ulm; father-in-law, Bill and Sharon Wolf of New Ulm; sisters-in-law, Barb Wolf of New Ulm and Jean Eckstein of New Ulm.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Luke in infancy.John Jude Aura was born on August 24, 1959 to David and June (Fitzgerald) Aura in Detroit Lakes. On October 16, 1998, he was united in marriage to Carol Wolf in New Ulm. John worked for Lessors in Eagan for 15 years, J and R Schugel in New Ulm for 5 years and he was recently employed at McLean's in Northfield and Southern Minnesota Grain Inspectors in Mankato. John enjoyed sports, especially watching hockey. He loved spending time with his family especially having sleep overs with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all, including his best pal, Brutus.

i worked with john at schugels and we became good friends. john was so proud of his family especialy the grandchildren. we lost track after he left schugels but every once and while he called to cay hi. i will miss our visits. my sympathy to carol and the rest of the family.
