1925 - 2017
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Ayoub in Montreal at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 69 years to Jean (née Szczenscy) and father of Tina (predeceased). He will be greatly missed by his brother Leonard, his sister-in-law Iona, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. John spent a very successful career as the anchor of the family business, Oriental Olive Importing. He was an extremely sociable person whom everyone loved, and was able to enjoy his passion for sailing, golfing, skiing and travelling with his wife right through their golden years. But he always found time to contribute to and organize many charitable events throughout his long-time membership in the Masonic brotherhood which was so important to him. Visitation will be at Urgel Bourgie, 1255 Beaumont Ave., Montreal QC H3P 0A1 on Sunday, June 4 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. George Antiochian Church, 555 Jean Talon, Montreal QC H2R 1T8 on Monday, June 5 at 11 a.m., preceded by Visitation at 10 a.m. The burial will follow the funeral service at Mount Royal Cemetery. A mercy meal will be held after the burial at approx. 1 p.m. at La Sirène de la Mer 114 Avenue Dresden, Mont-Royal, QC H3P 2B6. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Bro, John Ayoub was a 44 year member and a pillar of St. Albans Lodge #106, Past Master and Past Grand Lodge officer, as well as affiliated Member of Meridian Royal Alexandra Lodge 125, he was also a member of Karnak Shriners. His presence and counsel shall be sorely missed by all the Brethren. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. June 4 at Urgel Bourgie, 1255 Beaumont Ave, Montreal, QC H3P 0A1. Sister Lodges are cordially invited to attend. Assembly at 6 p.m.

Jean and the entire Ayoub Family,
Our deepest sympathies. My favourite memory of Johnny was when he and Jean inviting my young children for the day at his country house. He had them swimming and laughing and Jean made the best hamburgers I have ever had. And then with a sly smile he invited me to the pump room, where he kept cold bottles of beer in the hill-cooled water. What a day we had, I'll always remember the day and Jean and Johnny with great fondness.

My wife and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the entire family of your beloved John. I personally haven't had any contact with John for over 45 years though I remember him as being a kind and compassionate person. I would like to think that he lived a good life and at his departure from this earth plane what a beautiful welcome greeting he must have had at heaven's gate by his departed family members and friends. Jean and loved ones, please accept my most sincere condolences on Johnny's passing. Oftentimes had many kind thoughts of Johnny and the Lodge in the eastend and the many gatherings there Truly a Mason's mason. He will surely be sorely missed. Thanks for the memories my brother. Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again.
