I just learned of the May passing of that gregarious rascal Hamburger Ballard. As his lucky cousin, I grew up admiring him and cherishing the ever present twinkle in his eye. He always embraced life with such joy and abandon. May God bless Betty, his children and his big loving family. He was one of the legendary Ballard boys. And i extend my sympathies to the City of Bardstown - you/we are all going to miss him.

Ballard Family, sorry for your loss. I remember my parents acknowledging "Hamburger" when they saw him. I didn't know he had owned the Dairy Bar, but that was certainly a great place to hang out. When I still attended the Baptist church, we youth used to go there after the Early Service, before Sunday School.
