John Barretto Obituary
Mr. Barretto was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Louis and the late Anna (Eglebert) Barretto. He lived in Falmouth since 1982.
A graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1948, John worked as a carpenter for much of his life with Local 33. He also drove a cab in Medford and Falmouth.
John was a devoted companion to Eleanor Nickerson of Falmouth. He was a beloved father to James Barretto and his wife Luann of North Reading, David Barretto and his wife Karen of Haverhill, Kimberly Dragone and her husband Phillip of Stoneham. He was a loving grandfather to Christopher and Matthew Barretto, Phillip and Christopher Dragone. Dear brother of Anna Consolino of Medford, Jean Ciampa of Wilmington, Janice Corrado of Stoneham, and the late Louis, Eugene, Nicholas and Carlo Barretto.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, on Tuesday, from 4 to 8. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be sent in his name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 810 7th Ave., New York, NY 10019.

Dear Barretto Family, I'm so sorry for your loss, last week just went to a service for John's late brother Carl Barretto's sons Mark & Peter their memorial was at Gaffeys in Medford ,they were both buried together,my deepest condolences go out to all her knew John. Can't believe this. rest in peace

We are so sorry for your loss. You always think your parents are going to be there and it's always a shock when they aren't. I have lost both of my parents and Ronnie's father died last year. John Barretto was a big, giant teddy bear of a man. He loved to tell me stories from the past that were both interesting and very funny. I will always miss the gleam in his eyes as he told these stories. Ask anyone who knew John about his Bill Murray story and they`ll say the same. John was my father-in-law but more importantly, a good friend. I`m sure he`s giving his views on politics to everyone in heaven, putting smiles on eveyone`s faces. I`ll miss you, big guy!
