John Belsher

BELSHER _ John Mervyn "Merv" Merv Belsher passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the age of 81 years leaving behind cherished family and friends. Merv leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Bev; daughter, Lorna (Steve) Six; son, Keith (Sue) Belsher; daughter, Kathryn (Leo) Schnitzler; his grandchildren, Cody Six, Dustin Six, Jill (Terry) Sommerfeld-Bain, Laura Dextrase, Shawn Belsher, Jody (Ken) Waddle, Bryon Andrews, Blair Andrews and Davis Andrews; his great-grandchildren, Shayne Belsher, Brooke Belsher, Elizabeth Waddle, Kimberly Waddle and Elijah Waddle; his brothers, Art, Hugh, Laurie, Ken, Don and Doug; his sisters, Fran, Ursula, Lyn, Alice, Doris, Marg and Gwen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Merv was predeceased by his son, Bryon Belsher; his daughter, Gwen Dextrase; his son-in-law, Leo Dextrase; his parents, William and May Belsher; his brother, Chuck Belsher; and his sister, Nita Daniels. Merv was born in McCord, Saskatchewan on May 19, 1926 to William and May Belsher. It was a large and loving family - Merv had fifteen siblings to grow up with. The first seventeen years of his life were spent on the family homestead and Merv then ventured out to Calgary spending his adult life in southern Alberta. He was successful in business but most of all in his role as an entrepreneur. Merv will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
