John Benson

BENSON JohnBorn December 4, 1926 in Armadale, West Lothian, Scotland, John passed away peacefully on April 3, 2008 in Langley, BC. Beloved husband to Christina for 56 years, father to sons Eric and James, daughter Linda Legaree, grandfather to Adam and Jessie Legaree. He is also survived by in-laws Marion and Bill Weir and family. John served in the British Army 1945 - 1948, both in Burma and Hong Kong. He fought for the betterment of workers through the TWU (union) during his long tenure in the BC Tel shops as a C T & S employee. He was an active member of the North Delta Youth Soccer Assn and coached for many years. He enjoyed membership in the Canadian Legion and the Sons of Scotland. A man of principle and integrity, he will be long remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. The family wish to thank the staff of Langley Gardens Care Home where John lived for the past year. A memorial tea will take place from 2-4pm, April 12th in Langley at the Clubhouse in Willow Park Arbour, 8716 Walnut Grove Drive.
