You have our deepest sympathies in the loss of John and, of course, dear Minki. May their spirits live on in our lives and on and on in the lives of all others, like us, who knew and loved them.

My husband and I extend our sincere sympathy to the Bischoff family in the loss of both your father and mother. We met and spent time with them in Port St Joe, FL during many winters. We treasure those memories. May God's everlasting love for you and fond family memories be of comfort to you as you grieve this loss. Mary Ann and Ken Vanden Berg Grand Rapids, MI

On behalf of myself and all the members and friends of First Presbyterian Church, Port St Joe, Florida, we extend our deepest sympathy to all of John's family and friends. John and Minki spent many winter months among us. Several years ago we discovered a previously unknown (to us)skill and enthusiasm: John loved making pancakes. When I think of John, one of my images is of John in the church kitchen covered with flour and pancake batter. Another memory for me as his sometime pastor is the way he moved forward determinedly as he mourned for Minki. We are thankful that for him all mourning and tears are over, and he is with God - and Minki. And, we are so grateful for his time among us.

What a friendship many of us had with John Stuart Bischoff who we fondly called BUSSY. I could write a book about the many
experiences shared with John. To put this in perspective we went
to the same junior high school, senior high school and college
together. We also joined the same fraternity (Phi Delta Theta) while at Penn State, spent a great summer as counselors at a boys camp in Maine, spent numerous times at his cottage on
Lake Sharbot in Canada for fishing, also enjoying telling stories
about fond memories while enjoying a cold beer or scotch. A $5
fine was levied for repeating the same story but never collected.
In addition we had many rounds of golf during the 66 years we
knew each other.
John was greatly admired and highly respected as a father, brother, grandparent and businessman by everyone who knew
him. He was without any question my best friend and I was
honored to be his best man at his wedding to Minki. I feel blessed
and very lucky to have known John and will miss him terribly but will have many memories to cherish.
Betsy joins me in extending our sympathy to all of John's family for your loss and know you too will have wonderful memories to
help you through this difficult time.
John was one of a kind who brought joy and love to many.May
God bless him and keep him in his care.

I could write a novel about the numerous experiences that John and I shared together over many years. To put this in perspective
we went to the same junior high school, the same senior high school and Penn State College together. We also joined the same
Fraternity ( Phi Delta Theta ) , spent a summer as counselors at a boys camp in Maine, assembled distillation columns over many hours and of course we went to John's cottage on Lake Sharbot in Canada numerous times for bonding, fishing and adult beverages such as beer and scotch. John was the consummate
chef and host. In addition we enjoyed rounds of golf over the 66
years we knew each other.

John was greatly admired and respected as a father, brother,
grandparent, friend and businessman by all who knew him.

He was without question my best friend and I was honored to be
his best man at his wedding to Minki. I feel blessed and lucky to
have known John and will miss him terribly. Betsy joins me in
extending our sympathy to all of the family for their loss and the hope you will all treasure your wonderful memories of John. He truly was one of a kind -Awesome to say the least. God bless him.

I have such special memories of working with John on NACS projects. He was a first-class man; very smart and talented and then there was that infectious laugh. He was a great mentor and friend. The college bookstore industry has lost a great leader and friend.

We will miss his humor, the "tell it like it is", and most of all his friendship. We will miss having lunch and dinner with him when in State College. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

What fun we have had for over 60 years. John and Minki were always there for me with a big heart and a welcoming home. I'm so glad Cindy and I got to spend time with John last fall. Much love to all, Jean Seiler Stoddart
