John Henry Bohlen, II, 60, of Bristow Point, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Tulsa.
A private memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the family lake house at Bristow Point officiated by Pastor David Nolen. Casual lake attire is recommended and please bring a lawn chair. Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Honorary pallbearers will be Irvin Rickey, LC Yount, David McIntire, Matt Miyagishima, Mark Brown, and Kevin Waller.
John was born to John Henry and Carol Jean (Rickey) Bohlen on November 28, 1961 in Oklahoma City. He played basketball and graduated from Moore High School in 1980. John attended the University of Oklahoma.
While working at Arthur Harris Ford in Midwest City he met the love of his life, Gail Louise Gray, and they were married on October 20, 1984 in Moore.
John owned and operated A-1 Dent Removal for 31 years.
He was a member of Crowder First Southern Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school. John enjoyed thought-provoking discussions about the Bible. He enjoyed fishing, making pottery, playing guitar, composing music, singing, and tinkering on projects around the house. John’s life was centered around his family and providing for them. He was a loving and loyal follower of Christ, husband, father, and friend.
John was preceded in death by his parents: John Henry, Sr. and Carol Jean Bohlen, and an infant daughter: Jacqulyn Renee Bohlen.
John is survived by his wife of 38 years: Gail of the home; sons: Jonathan Bohlen and Christina of Guthrie, Sean Bohlen of Hartshorne; half-brother: John Paul Bohlen of Mustang; aunts and uncles: Irvin Rickey and wife, Linda, Karen Capps and husband, Ron; Sherri Zoeller and husband, Jerry; cousins: Davey Fomby and wife, Shannon, Jamie Brown; several other cousins, a nephew, other family members, and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to either of the following organizations: The Gideons International P.O. Box 95641; Oklahoma City, OK 73143 and/or The Compassion Pregnancy Center of McAlester; 1303 South 2nd Street; McAlester, OK 74501.
