This man was someone unlike none other, a man who would stand out for all the right reasons. His love for his family and friends, his engagement in the lives of all, he truly was a family man, and the world was his family. He was one of the best men I have ever known in my short few years I got to know him, and while I am extremely sad that we couldn't have more time together, I am glad to have known him.
I still remember the time I went as a passenger on his motorcycle, still have a picture of it to this day. Or the other time he made me go around taking orders for people at a huge gathering of friends, even when he was making the same stuff regardless of what the actual order was. That's how good of a guy he was, even when I would provide no real use as a young child, he was engaged and made me feel important there. He was without a doubt one of the most amazing and genuine people I think I'll ever meet, his character and actions definitely proved it.
I had recently turned 10 when I found out of his passing, and I was heartbroken, it really came out of nowhere. Now 6 years later, I am here remembering everything he did for me and how much it really meant then. It all felt insignificant at the time, but upon looking back, it has allowed me to become a better person. The importance of family and integrity stems from his influence, even after his passing, and I am truly grateful for how good of a role model he was to me, especially during my early life.
In short, John Bootland was one of the best people I'll ever know, and his family is just as amazing. He will always be the man I think of when the term "family man" is used, his dedication to the people in his world was astounding, he was always engaged and ready to make the lives of the people around him better. I love you Uncle Bronc, I will always remember our good times together and honor your memory by doing the best I can for the people around me.

Its been years since I saw Boots, but the memories of him (his jokes and laughter) have never faded. His memory will always live on in so very many.
I am so sorry for the loss of a wonderful son, father and partner. Was so happy to hear this week that Boots had found love again - with Debbie Dowie. What a small world! My heart goes out to all of you.
