John always teased me when I came to visit and I always felt welcomed in his home. He was a fun person and I always saw that he cared very much for his kids. I remember him and Kathy taking us to Lagoon, to listen to the Tabernacle choir, and John taking us out for shooting practice. He was a kind man who raised my best friend, which I am forever grateful. I am glad that he is in a better place without pain. My condolences go out to all the family as no one else can fill that void of a loved one lost, but he really will live on in each of you. He is leading the way for his family to the next chapter. My love goes out to all of you at this time.

Kathy, Julie just told me today that your husband passed away I am so sorry for your loss. It is nice to have the knowledge of the plan of salvation, Life is Eternal. I may have met your husband but I'm sorry to say I don't have much memorie of him. Best wishes to you now and your future.

Dear Kathy my sweet sister, My heart broke when you brought John home to live his remaining days with you and it turned out only to be minutes. He was a great man and I will miss not having him say "how is madame hockshaw"today. I know you didn't want to let him go and it was so very hard on you, but he is at peace and not in pain, John will be watching over you all the time while you two are apart. I love you Kathy and Joanna, Steven, Natalie, Lorraine and Sarah and the rest of of family, I want you all to be at peace knowing your father was a wonderful dad and grandpa and loved his family dearly

Grandpa,
Though distance kept us apart, you were always and forever will be in my heart. I remember visiting you on the farm as a child, I was so amazed at how you drank milk straight from the cow. In my older years, I brought to you your first great grandson. The look of joy and pride on your face was so priceless. You knew the value of family. Your bear hugs and laughter will forever be in my memories. Rest in peace with our Heavenly Father until we meet again.
Love, Rachel and family (Keith, Ethan, Elias, and Eden)

"FINAL ALARM"
Rest now my brother firefighter
Lay soft your suffering back
Rest well and forever
Your memory shall not lack
Rest your tired hands
Wipe clean your weary brow
Rest with St. Florian
Your spirit now endowed
Rest here your heart
We know you gave your all
Rest easy, you've done your part
and now you've answered your last call
As we ring the final bell.

Daddy, you were my rock and my father. I'll always remember the laughter and the lessons. You taught by example.
