Dear Barbara, it's been quite a while since I've seen you. I hope that you and your family are well. I know that life will never be the same for you since John made his transition. Indeed he was a fine talented young man with great professional potential. Although we understand the certainty surrounding death, in John's case, you, his family, and friends remain thankful for the beautiful presence he brought into our lives. May God continue His blessings upon you.

Little John, that's how I will always remember you. When I think back, I still can't believe that you aren't here with us, but Gods plan for you far surpasses what I(we) can comprehend. I never told you how proud I was of you, I was, and I still am. Occasionally, I will wake up in the middle of the night and catch I Love Lucy. We used to love watching that show, especially the Sally Sweet episode. I love you dearly. You became the man I always wanted to be. Your efforts continue to inspire me. Love -Colin

I love you Papa! Your Mother and I picked up your diploma on graduation day. We got your headstone set on Saturday the day before Memorial Day. I'll take care of your Mother. We'll bring NBC by for you to see him. Eternal love and vigilance.

John, you are the apple of my eye. Your legacy lives on through all of us. Your mother and I received your Outstanding Achievement Award at VCU and a lot of family was there. Wherever you are, I am also. I love you Son. This is my son in whom I am well plesaed!

Altough I never met John, I feel as though I knew him quite well. I taught music with John's grandfather, Gene. Gene was so very proud of John from the day he was born. John was close in age to my sons and I so enjoyed hearing about John as he was growing up. He was a model child. . . a beautiful person, whom I admired very much. Thank you, Gene, for sharing John's story with me over the years. God bless John's family.

I remember the first time I met John. I was thirteen and Dad picked me up from school to take me to the hospital to see my new 1 day old baby brother. He was long and skinny with the softest cry I ever heard and the most amazing gift God ever gave.

I will always remember John playing string bass and violin in my classes. He was a talented and motivated music student, and was well liked and respected by his peers and teachers at Clover Hill High School.

I did not know john personally but he was in my math class this past semester at VCU, and we went to the same high school, I saw a news paper laying on a colleague's desk with his picture, and I thought was being recognized for an award of some sort, and I in shock when I picked up the news paper and saw it was the obituaries...I wish I had said a hello the times I saw him in class. I am sorry for your lost and may he rest in peace

To the Bullock Family
I am so sorry for your lost I just found out through a friend of johns death. I knew him in school we went to cloverhill 2gether I met him my freashmen year his sophmore year and had lunch 2gether the whole year and stayed friends throughout our 4 years unfortunately lost contact ater high school but ran into him a year ago. I am truly shocked and sadden to hear such news he was truly a good person and not a mean or evil part in him the world as lost such a great person! Please know you raised a great son and has touched many lives for the better.

We hung out with john a lot in highschool. This is very shocking to find out, I'll be putting flowers at his resting spot as soon as I can, I'm so sorry for your loss.

He was a gentle spirit untouched by the troubling things we see. A candle in the dark. It's a shame his light was put out so soon.

Even though I only met John a few times through his sister, Donise (my cousin), she shared with me how proud she was of John and all of his accomplishments. He was a talented and gifted young man with a heart for God. I am praying for each of you as you mourn your loss. God will comfort you and fill the sorrow you may have in the days to come.
