John C. Pritchard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 29, 2025.
John Charles (Chuck) Pritchard was born to John & Lois Pritchard on July 14, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed peacefully from this life at his home in New Braunfels, Texas, on August 18, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Betty, and caregiver, Patricia Nevarez.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, for 37 years of marriage, his daughter Kellye and grandson Jack, brother Steven Pritchard (Georgette), sister Mary Loskorn (Jim Lambert), Brother Jimmy Pritchard (Marcia), and sister Julie Korthauer (Russell)...in addition to his many, many nieces and nephews.

Chuck was a proud Longhorn, graduating from the University of Texas in August of 1970. Upon graduation, he became an Ensign in the United States Navy...and thus began his love of flying. He began his career as a commercial pilot with Braniff Airlines in 1977, which led him to his ultimate career goal of becoming a Captain on a Boeing 747-400. When presented with the opportunity to fly for Singapore Airlines, he and Betty relocated to Singapore for five years, and together, they enjoyed exploring the world.

Chuck, as the saying goes, never met a stranger. Life to him was one big adventure, and he gave it his all...to the very end.

He was smart, happy, fun-loving, and totally dedicated to his loving family, friends, God, and Texas. He was just happy to be here with us all.

My condolences for the family of Chuck. He always had a smile on his face. I know he will be missed. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

Chuck has"slipped the surly bonds of earth" for the final time. Congratulations to a great classmate and fellow aviator on a life well lived.

Chuck sat next to me at our graduation from Central Catholic. It was held at the Municipal Auditorium and it was warm inside and the speeches were long and somewhat boring. So Chuck dosed off and proceeded to snore. So I nudged him to wake him. He had a great sense of humor. I'm sure we will meet again on the other side where he will be wide wake. RIP Chuck.
