Dad was a loving father. He was always so happy when we visited. Family meant everything to him. He loved sharing his love of work, music, Irish heritage, & the outdoors with us. He had a great sense of humor. Several times he took me to his workplaces growing up & proudly introduced me to his co-workers, & you never knew when you might find a humorous touch that he added to a picture on the wall in the house. I could also see how he adored Mom.
I love you Dad.

I first met Jack when Mick (Mike) and I served as altar servers at Jack's and Mellon's wedding. Allowing us to serve was a brave choice because Mick and I lacked a certain sense of decorum at the time (maybe still). I would occasionally see Jack and Mellon over the following years, and Mick would provide updates of their travels and successes. Jack had a generous, strong, and humorous spirit. He was a faithful brother, and each was very proud of the other. I'm certain that all who have known Jack and Mellon have been blessed by their long life.
To Mick, I wish you strength during this difficult time. Your family was always a second family to me. To Jack and Mellon's family, may every day be filled with joyful memories of this good man. God bless you. Bill Leary

Dad was a wonderful father and an overall great person. I always admired how dedicated he was to our family, our Irish heritage and his home town Chicago. I am going to miss his firm hand shake, sense of humor, the sound of his voice, and watching the Bears lose together on Sunday mornings. Love you Dad

I could always count on my Dad for words of encouragement. He was always optimistic. Even when his health started to decline. He was great father. He truly enjoyed his life and loved Mom more than anything in the world!

I´m so sorry about Jack´s passing. He was a wonderful family man and a great brother-in-law. I´m glad we had the chance to celebrate his 90th birthday with him last January.
