John was such a helpful gentleman regarding Berkley Township business. He was always very responsive and tried hard to assist whenever he could. I am very saddened to hear about his passing.
Prayers for his soul and his family.

Will always have fond memories of John Pegeen and my brother at the Seaside Park apartments, always a party and lots of fun. My deepest sympathies , Iris Mueller

Oh Johnny, you left all of us far too soon. From playing football together at Grice and Hamilton, to last seeing you at my Dad´s funeral last year, you were always one of the healthiest, happy, positive, energetic, family- loving people I have ever known. I´ll think of you always with a smile on your face, just like Al Ezzo, and will see you both on the Otherside some day.
Phyllis- my heart breaks for you and the kids, and if there is anything I can do, please don´t hesitate.
Forever friends, George Grochala and Kathy Lawyer

Although I´d known John since middle school we became good friends in high school when our two friend groups meshed into one. We were a tight knit bunch! Myself, Diane, Annette, Leigh, John, Albert, Pete, Rick, George, Jeff, John (aka Meatball) , Larry, Danny,Jim, Bill to name a few. We had so many great times together and so many memories were made. John was definitely a free spirit and marched to the beat of a different drummer yet he was a truly loyal, honest, sincere friend to all. He was unconventional in the best of ways! I remember when he bought his first car.it was an ancient black Pontiac which he promptly painted red! He had started his photography business and on the side of his car there was a sign that read "John Camera Photography Quality is in the Name"John was a truly humble guy. He would be overwhelmed by the glowing testimonials written by friends and co workers. The last time I was John was 12 years ago at a friend group reunion in Pennington. We reminisced about old times and got caught up on each other´s families. I will always remember how loving and devoted he was to his family and children. Above all else they meant the world to him. RIP John. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to the entire Camera family.

John. was a truly incredible son- in- law. I remember when he was living in Seaside Heights and before the twins were born, he tore down the spiral staircase which was in the middle of the room and which I couldn’t climb, and built a beautiful wooden staircase with rails for me.
Also this past December, while he was visiting me in FL. he didn’t like my bathroom shower head, so he bought me a new one and replaced it. That was. The kind of person he was.
He was such an amazing husband to my daughter, and a wonderful father to Jeffrey, Jillian, and my 4 wonderful grandchildren Jocelynn, Julianna, Jaydon, and Jonas. I will miss you forever.

John was like a second Dad to my brothers and I growing up. The memories are wonderful and endless but John´s warmth, positivity and energy are unforgettable. Food, music, hospitality and sense of fearlessness (watching him jump out of a plane) were just a few of the little things that probably helped shape the person I am today. We will miss you so much, John. Sending endless love to the Camera family.

John was an amazing husband and father. Every morning before I left for school to teach, he would prepare a tuna salad for me, cut like a professional chef and filled with lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, a bit of olive oil, and a little salt and pepper. He always laughed at how I liked everything the exact same. Simultaneously, he made our four children's lunches and their morning fruit bowls, while the smell of cinnamon buns baking in the oven would fill the house. We would always wonder when the man slept!!!
Before breakfast, he would be outside working on the pool, weeding, mowing the lawn, or tackling a new project. Despite his busy schedule, he never missed Jaydon's or Julianna's basketball games or Jocelyn's shotput and cheer meets, or Jonas's soccer games. Such a proud father.
Our favorite family activity was boating on the Barnegat Bay on weekends-whether navigating the channels into LBI, tubing on the Toms River or Metedeconk, or simply enjoying each other's company.
Last summer, we traveled cross-country, visiting national parks, an adventure that I'll always treasure. Whether it was a day trip to the Poconos, or a regular day at work, he was always happy and made the best of every situation. Meeting him at yoga when I was 24, marrying in 2007, and raising our children together has been the greatest blessing.
John truly was a jack of all trades, a kind soul, and the most involved father. When he helped create Colts Kids First, he epitomized putting children first. He will be missed every day. His love and support made us a better person.
John always saw the glass as half full and was constantly starting new projects. He was the most loving father to our four children, Jocelynn, Julianna, Jaydon, and Jonas as well as Jeffrey and Jillian. He gave me more than I ever expected, providing us the opportunity to raise our children in the beautiful town of Colts Neck.
Though I'm unsure how I'll manage without him, I will honor his legacy by volunteer work and spreading kindness. I'm so proud of what we built together. Our memories, from Tudor City to Sesame Place with our Gymboree friends, to Colts Neck, are filled with joy and love. John was the heart and soul of our family, and there will forever be an empty spot that no one can fill. He was our Superman, our champion, our voice, and our heart.

Johnny was a wonderful brother. He was a lifelong learner and always loved to share his knowledge to make people around him better versions of themselves as well. One of his many accomplishments was to build a major addition to his home in Toms River and complete all the specialty trade work himself. I remember he told me he got a book published by the US Navy on how to do it and then he did it. No challenge was too hard, he was always ready to make things happen. Great love and respect eternally.
