John Capra Obituary
AGE: 71 •
John A. Capra, 71, passed in peace on Monday, June 8, 2015 after a yearlong battle with brain cancer. He was born in Bound Brook, NJ on June 15, 1943. He was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, attended college at Rider University, enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought for our Country in the Vietnam War. He worked for over 30 years at Devro/Nitta Casings in Somerville, NJ.
Predeceased by his mother, Mary Conklin and his father, Charles Capra. He leaves behind his two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Kortbawi and her husband Steve and Sharon Antoniello and her husband John; his three grandchildren, JC, Stephen J. and Olivia; his sister, Barbara J. Corsini, brother, Charles J. Capra and wife, Mary A. Capra; his long term companion and friend, Patricia DeMauro; many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A private memorial honoring his life will be held by his loving family. Donations may be made in John's memory to: Defeat GBM Research Collaborative- National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Newton, MA 02458. "That we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us".

To John's family: My deepest sympathy's to all. I knew John thru my cousin Joe when we were in high school. He taught me to drive stick. We had fun and laughed alot. He was and still is a great guy. He's in God's hands now and watching over you all and waiting till your all together again. God Bless.

I still can't believe you're gone and how strong you were. Now you're pain free. I'm so blessed to not only have known you, but to have been loved by you as your third daughter. I pray they come up with a cure for this dreadful disease. And I know how proud you are of Cheryl and Sharon. They literally dropped everything to be with you every second possible. I remember all of the amazing family time we've had. I am blessed to have gotten to see you to say goodbye. I pray for faith and God leads your daughters forever down the right path. I miss you already. Thank you for always accepting me as one of your own. Thank you for ALWAYS being so patient when I was so difficult. Thank you for never catching us sneaking in when you were leaving for work. Thank you for teaching me my left from my right. Thank you for fighting for our freedom. That you for the Yum Yum Tree outings and trips to the boardwalk. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being an amazing father figure to me when my daddy couldn't be there. Watch over us. John leaves behind three little girls who thought of him as like their grandfather...they called him docs. Their names are Cassandra, Samantha and Jodi-lynn Pereira. He was very much apart of their life. My mom Patricia DeMauro was my mom....John's girlfriend for fifteen years. She was with him to his very last breath.
