One of my favourite memories of Papa. He really was an amazing human and one of the most important people in my lives. Rest easy Papa ❤

We first met John and family when he was on his OE in England and we worked together. On John's return to NZ he sent me an advert for a job for which I applied and eventually my family and I moved to NZ. We spent many happy times with John, especially when he had a section at Hahei and we had caravan. Once John moved to Whangamata he would always pay us a visit when in Auckland. Last time was on December 22nd when he helped to celebrate my wife's 90th birthday.
You will never be forgotten John for your love of family and love of life. Thank you for being our friend. Rest in Peace. John and Evelyn Emery, Waitakere Gardens, Henderson.

A man who was always positive, always looking out for others, most of all, John loved his family and liked nothing more than to have his granddaughters, Bailee and Evie, stay with him during school holidays and go cycling with him. His love, loyalty and constancy will leave an enormous void for Melanie and Matt, Gemma and Pete, and his five grandchildren and great granddaughter. His death has been a huge shock to us all, he was salt of the earth, a good man, a rare treasure.
