How is it that I have only just found this? Thank you Tena, and all the other who have left the wonderful messages. I only know a few if you. But I have to say my father chose friends quite wisely. Feel free to contact me via email @[email protected] or..naturally... facebook. Thank you all for the kind words about my father.

JW always put others first, he had a heart of gold. He was one of the nicest, most caring people I have ever known. He gave 110% every day, whether work or play. He would light up any room with his JW way . The truth is he was a true friend to me and my family and one of the greatest men I have ever known. He made an impact on many. He will be missed but never forgotten.

One thing was for sure when JW was in the room...you were going to be laughing. JW always brought a smile to those around. It was obvious how much he cared for and loved his family. When our son Samuel was sick in Iowa, JW took a very active role in trying to help figure out what was wrong, he cared for people that much. JW not only made our professional lives fun, but he carried that over to our personal lives. JW will be missed; he is no doubt trying to figure out how to play jokes on us from Heaven.

We were shocked to hear the news about JW. He was the most stubborn, opinionated, ornery , poilitically incorrect man we ever met but that's what made it so much fun to be around him. Oh how he loved to have fun and his laugh was so contagious. The world is a much sadder place without him in it. Edna will live in our hearts forever. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you.

JW was many things to many people… husband, father, grandfather, friend, teacher, leader, kind, generous, ornery, caring… the list is endless. But what will always stand out in our memories… he loved and was loved in each of these roles and will live in our hearts for all time.

JW was simply a wonderful person in so many aspects of life and work. He made us laugh, think and appreciate just being together. Nothing will ever fill the void left by this great man. How lucky we are to have known him, Teresa, Jess and Nicolas. We miss him beyond measure.

Teresa, Jessica & Cleveland,
I only new JW for a year, but the time I shared with him was time I am blessed to have had. I truly enjoyed the time we spent together and I am thankful for what he was able to teach me and share with me. I hope you know how much we will all miss him. He was a dedicated husband, father, employee, mentor and friend. We are all better off for having known him.
The Carr family is in my prayers.

JW was a good man that worked hard to train and mentor the youth of Hensel Phelps. Though I will always remember him for the way he made my mother laugh at a company Christmas party by the silly Santa hat he wore. This was a difficult time for my mother as she had been in Orlando taking care of my terminally ill grandmother, and he was able to make her smile.
I was always grateful for that.
