I knew Nesbit & Minerva when I was a child in the late `40s. Then knew John when he was a communicant of Prince George Church, in Georgetown.
My condolences to John´s family.

I had the privilege of knowing John when he found recovery in Georgetown. He was a good man and always had a wonderful way of making others happy when they were with him. John and I shared one exceptional moment in that we were together at the detention center to see a client when we learned that the World Trade Centers had been hit been hit. Sending sincere condolences to Patty and the girls.

My dear friend John:
It was a sincere privilege to be your neighbor in Lexington. Thank you for the many years of friendship and the great conversations. I will never forget the times you and I used that (it seemed like) 1000 lb grass aerator in our yards. Each and every day, you made the lives of the Torbett family that much better. Thank you, God bless you and your wonderful family. Until we meet again my friend... Shawn

There are no words for such a loss & just a horrible disease. I lost my grandmother, mother,& Aunt & was a private caretaker for many with Alzheimer's /Dementia. I know & understand personally & on a professional level how devastating this disease is.
I am a member of same fellowship John belonged to & he was such a beautiful soul in our rooms full of love & hope. My deepest condolences to you Patty & rest of family who he always spoke of with such deep love , respect & was so proud of. I won't forget his last share...he remained so Humble & I'm glad he got Hugs & Love from all that were there that Saturday night.
Prayers & the comfort of his memories & much Love & Light to you all thru this difficult time

John had a natural charm and charisma. He was never at a loss for words, always full of life, and such a joy to be with. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I´ll be turning up "Stairway to Heaven" so we can all sing along with John in our hearts.
