What a funny, interesting, knowledgeable guy - full of folk wisdom and professional savvy when he took me under his wing in the late 60's at the Union Bus Terminal. I had a lot to learn and Jim's patience and humor and humanity made it all seem easy. His love for his family was always front and center and his abiding faith ingrained. Rest in peace, Jim; we're all better for having known you.

I pray that God will comfort all of you during this time. James was one of a kind and I will miss praying with him. Take comfort in knowing he is walking on the streets of gold now with no more pain, no more sickness.

Phyllis ,
Jim was a Guiding Light to me growing up, helping him at the Bus Station Sunday Mornings was always great time spent learning the business. And getting to know Jim Carter.
Was thinking about him Saturday past ,remembering him bringing the Sweet Potatoes on the light Blue Chevy pick up truck to the bus station. Such Great Memories .
"Be Strong in The Lord and Be of Good Courage" ,,for the Victory is Jims Now !
Love & Regards
Dicky

Phyllis & family,
My prayers are with all of you at this time. James was a good Christian man. His phone Ministry has helped a lot of people in the past years. It was also a Ministry that Spencer used when he was sick & couldn't get out to visit with people. We always enjoyed our time & trips that we shared with you & James.
Love to all of you, Sylvia Atkinson Todt
