John Anthony CARUSO

CARUSO, John Anthony John Anthony Caruso, 88, of Naples, FL passed away unexpectedly Monday, (June 7, 2010). Mr. Caruso was born July 6, 1921 in Pelham, NY. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Panama. He was raised in Pelham, NY and had lived in New Rochelle, NY and Lake Carmel, NY before making Naples his home in 1998. He retired from Daitch Shopwell as a master meat cutter. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and volunteered for many years with Collier Harvest. He enjoyed music, dancing and golfing. He was also a member of MacDonald's Group a golfing club in San Carlos Park. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maria Benevento Caruso of Naples; son, Dominick J. (Patricia M.) Caruso of Southington, CT; daughter, Rosemaria Deboben of Naples; grandchildren, Christopher J. (Laura) Caruso of Richmond Hill, NY and Jennifer M. Caruso (Oscar L. Suarez) of Hamden, CT; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabella Caruso and Kathryn Grace Suarez; sister, Florence Caruso of New Rochelle, NY and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Florence Caruso; brothers, Frank and Dominick Michael Caruso and sisters, Pauline Antonini, Carmella Caruso and Rose Cignilia. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Rd. from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N. with Fr. Len Gioeli officiating. Interment will be held at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle, NY. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
