Coach, you taught me life lessons that I have never forgotten. You taught me how to WANT to win. I've never forgotten the lessons you taught me about failure and success. Thank you, Coach! I've never forgotten you. R.I.P.

He made you work, but he made you WANT to work, to produce your best, and nothing less. Nothing but good memories of him.

A friend and fellow teacher, I could always depend on John for words of wisdom ( or otherwise ). His instructions to students during tornado drills is a classic and I was always sure that they knew the source of the quote I used. Never want him to accuse me of plagiarism.Rest in peace, my friend.

I was not the best football player for Coach Cochran but benefited from having known him.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Coach Cochran's passing. Coach Cochran coached against me when I was playing high school football. When I was a young coach he took me under his wing and taught me a wealth of knowledge about the game, life, and friendship and camaraderie. The world will miss him. He was a good man.

My linebacker coach in high school. He was gruff and tough and didn't take any lip, but respected those who listened. I learned a lot from him and will never forget him. He will truly be missed.

Johns was a great friend and colleague. We shared many good days together. He loved coaching young men and women in the sports of football and track. He will be missed.

He was my high school head track coach. He was tough with a tender heart. Enjoyed our occasional phone calls through the years. It seemed like in those calls we were saying - "We had something special then...let's not forget what we had."
