July 19, 1928–April 23, 2025

John Coldren, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather,

passed away peacefully at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida. He was 96 years young. John is survived by his wife, Esther, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage. His legacy continues through his three children: Jeff Coldren of Rochester, Michigan; Lori and her husband, Greg Carey, of Harbor Springs, Michigan; and Susan and her husband, Bruce Silvano, of Boynton Beach, Florida. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Carly, Danny, and Catie, and a delighted great-grandfather to Maverick and Miley, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

A proud patriot, John enlisted in the Navy at the young age of 18 and served his country with dedication from 1946 to 1948. His adventurous spirit extended beyond his military service, as he traveled the world extensively throughout his career as a Manufacturing Sales Executive for Pittsburg Tube and Steel and

Rockwell International Corporation. In his leisure time, John was an avid reader, particularly drawn to the intrigue of spy novels.

He also enjoyed staying informed with the daily newspaper, which fueled his passion for playing along with Jeopardy. A dedicated sports enthusiast, he especially loved cheering on his Michigan State Spartans. Above all else, John treasured spending time with his family and being in the company of his beloved wife, Esther. These moments brought him the greatest happiness, and he hoped his love legacy would continue with his family.
