Dear Joey and family, as you know John was not only a friend and neighbor but served as councilor to our medical practice for over twenty years. He also kindly helped our now grown children with their legal needs. I am distressed that my recent surgery did not permit my attending the formal memorial services. In my view John represented the finest qualities desirable in an attorney. He was the consumate councilor and unwavering friend. Possessor of that delightful subtle quiet humor. Several months ago we communicated about the young son of a doctor friend who is now a respected senior international judge. We were musing about the silent passage of time. John commented, "Yes, but fortunately you and I have lost none of our youthful good looks or athletic prowess." A unique and wonderful man that we will miss deeply. We truly loved John.

I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to John's family and friends. It comes as a great shock to me that John, who was so greatly loved and appreciated by his family, friends and clients is with us no more. It is a story that can be similarly told by many, many others of how steady and helpful he was to those we know and love. I came to know John as such a friendly, calm, guiding influence in the course of his work. Great respect, admiration and genuine affection falls short to describe my sentiments. I will always remember John Creney. I will miss him dearly. He was such a great man.

I did not know this fine man but your son Joe is a good friend of my son Kevin Quiros. John & Joe were at golf outings with Kevin and my husband Dario, and we are all terribly saddened by the news of his sudden and very sad death. If Joe is any reflection of his dad, John must have been a really super guy.
Please know that our thoughts are with you at this awful time.

We are both deeply saddened by the news of Mr. Creney's passing. I think I'll always remember his plaid or red waistcoat at Wigilia, and his love of Cape Cod's summers. You are in our prayers. With much love, Lynne & Kiron

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

To the Creney Family:
My deepest sympathies and condolences to all. Echoing what others have said seems shallow but at this time even for us attorneys words fail us when we try to completely describe all of John's fine qualities as a man and attorney. "Gentle-man" only begins to describe him.
On the Cape, we as a legal community truly value and try to preserve the comraderie that we have and what attorneys practicing in other counties often times congratulate us for. It is because of John that exists today and I know that as a mentor to me, I will strive to keep that memory of him in my practice day to day and committ to carrying that on as a tribute to his memory.
My prayers are with you and I only hope that the fond memories of him that you have will console you at this time and remain with you forever.

Joey:
I am shocked and saddened to learn of John's untimely death.
It was a priviledge to practice law with him, and to have the benefit of his advice and mentoring in the early years of my practice. He established a high standard of excellence in all that he did. The Cape Legal community will not be the same without him.
