I was thinking about John the other day and re-read my original message/post and realized I failed to thank the Croci family for sharing this wonderful person with the rest of us. We all owe you a debt of gratitude we can never pay in full.
John is and was a very special person.

So very sorry to hear about the loss of Dr. Croci. I was lucky enough to know him as a patient, and he cared for my children and also took my parents on as patients late in life. He was a special doctor and he always listened to the patient and had their best interest at heart. Thanks so much to his family for the many years that they shared him with the medical community. Praying that God will give you peace with many wonderful memories of him as a husband, Dad and grandfather.

Dear Susan and Family,
I revered Dr. Croci. He was my personal and family doctor for 40 yrs. I have lost a "special friend."
April 24, 2015
I have been trying to find the words since I read Dr Croci's Obituary on Sunday. It is very hard to sum up what he meant to my family. I have been with him since 1975 and never considered going to anyone else. He was with me through good times and bad. He took care of 4 generations of us and if not for him and Dr Kruse, my youngest daughter would not be with us. She stopped breathing in his office d/t the HIB Virus and the 2 of them rushed her to St Lukes giving her mouth to mouth. This happened 29 years ago and at that time she was the only survivor of this to not be mentally challenged. They saved my youngest and I am forever grateful. He was the kindest most compassionate man. He truly was a part of our family. I feel as though I have lost not only my Family Doctor but a very dear friend. When he retired, it was very hard to deal with but I clung to the possibility of seeing him again. Now I have to wait until Heaven. Thank you Mrs Croci, Matt & Dave for sharing him with us. He was truly loved by all of us.

Dr Croci was my family Doctor for 38 years. He cared for my parents , my Siblings, myself and my Children. I can remember , and even said to him...."when I started with you, you were low man on the Totem pole, and now your big man on Campus, I don't want you to leave", and he said to me with his hand on my shoulder.... " I' m not going anywhere " I will miss you Dr Croci. You were loved, by my whole family....,rest in heaven fine soul..,,

Dr. Croci was my Doctor and was also my mother's boss for almost her entire career as his RN. I am truly saddened to hear that John has passed. I just wanted to take a moment to say how wonderful of a man John was and how great he and his family were to my family. John was an amazing Doctor who always made me feel safe and comfortable. I have so many stories that come to my mind which all include some shining detail of something kind and caring John did for me or my family. I will never forget those days when I was sick and had to sleep on the couch in John's office because Mom could not leave work and take me home and John so graciosuly just gave up his office to let his nurses 10 year old son sleep because he had a tummy ache. John cared for so many and made a tremendous impact on our community that is evident as I read through all these kind words. He meant so much to me and I will always remember him and his character.

I was a patient of Dr. John for 35 years. He was not only a fantastic doctor but, more importantly, a great man. His dedication and true care for his patients was very special. I am glad I was able to say goodbye to John before we moved to Tennessee in 2012. I truly miss him.

Dr, Croci cared for my family, my mother and my children going back 40 years. Even though my HMO changed her referred us to Dr. Cox but my other siblings and in laws went to him as well. He was a caring and wonderful person and a great compassionate Doctor. When you talked to him in a visit you knew he really cared. RIP John i am so glad you did not linger in a drawn out illness. God Bless you and your loved ones you leave behind.

Wow! What a complete shock to find this news today! I'm so sorry for the family. I worked at Fallen Timbers Family Physician's for 7 and a 1/2 years doing all the coding for every patient. Dr. Croci would call me into his office periodically and thank me for doing such a wonderful job! I have such wonderful memories of him. in-addition to being employed there, Dr. Croci was also my personal family doctor there. He was the most sincerest, kindest, loving man and the best doctor! He also took care of my mother-in-law and she loved him so much! I remember seeing him the month before he retired. It is such a shame that he didn't have a longer retirement to enjoy his family and friends more! He truly was the most gracious, genuine man who took a true interest in everyone with a lot of compassion! All I can say is, Heaven sure has a wonderful Saint up there now! My deepest prayers are with the family, friends, and all his loving patient's who will truly miss this wonderful man. May Jesus wrap his arms around each of you and give you comfort and strength to get through your loss. I hope that by keeping all the memories you have of him will also bring you more comfort.

I am so thankful that my family and I were able to be patients of Dr. Croci for nearly 30 years. He always committed himself to the individual, listening and providing the care needed, taking the time necessary to really hear and help the patient in a truly holistic way. His kindness and compassion are a rarity that will be greatly missed.
I especially appreciated his cautious concern when I returned to school to finish my RN degree, and was proud to share that accomplishment with him!
He had to chuckle when we were pleasantly surprised with my good cholesterol test results, when he suggested I could continue to eat whatever I'd been eating. I don't think he expected my reply that I would let everyone know my doctor said I could keep eating Happy Meals!!
My only regret is that he had so little retirement time to enjoy with his family.
I pray that wonderful memories will comfort the Croci family at this time of loss.

When we moved to Toledo in 1987, a friend recommended Dr. Croci. I had lost a child previously and had lost my faith in doctors. But Dr. Croci changed that for me. He was always so considerate and caring. He always sat and talked to you asking if you needed anything else...he always made you feel special and that he wanted to know about you. He touched many lives and enriched them. He will be greatly missed.

So very sorry and shocked to learn of Dr. Croci's passing. He was a very high-energy, enthusiastic, and grateful student in our Italian class. My very deepest sympathy for his family. May God's peace be with you.

It was a blessing to work with Dr. Croci for 25 years as his nurse. Since we lost him I have been recalling so many memories, and all of them make me smile. The best word I can use to describe him is SHARING. He shared his sense of humor, his knowledge, his faith, his sense of fair play, his attention to others needs and concerns, his smile, your grief and your losses, and mostly, he shared his love. The greatest tribute I could pay to him is to try and live my life as he lived his. All our love to Susan, Matt, David, and families...he loved all of you so much, and we loved him. Joy & Jerry Roman

Dr Croci was my Dr. for 28+ years. I was introduced to him through my then boyfriend Gary Eber who was one of Dr. Croci's first patients when he started at FTFP. I instantly adored him. He was with me through the births of my two children, my husband's open heart surgery, and many other challenges. He always told me I was a strong woman just when I needed to hear it.
He was also my friend and I truly loved this man. I was heartbroken when he retired. How do you replace the most wonderful Dr. in the world?
Now I'm devastated!
I see the paper and know that he has past. I know he has gone on to be with God and the angels. and will have eternal life.
My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. May the peace of the Lord be with you in this most difficult time.

Words can not express the sorrow my family feels with the loss of Dr. Croci.
I was one of Dr. Croci's first patients in 1975. I can not count the times he never charged me for his service. He even removed a sist from my back in the old office, No charge. He and Joy treated me like a millionare. I will truley miss a great man. When he finally retired I gave him a fifth of Scotch, he said thanks, but I drink Gin with a big smile.

Our family is deeply sadden by Dr. Croci's passing. The world has lost a wonderful man with the gift of "great bedside manner". He was my doctor since I was a child in the 70s and also cared for my children. When I took a sick child to see him, he always paused and turned to me asking how I was and if I needed anything. When the problem was severe he may refer us to a specialist but always followed up. Such compassion and kindness that was truly genuine.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and we pray you are comforted by his legacy. Reiter / Craig Families

The Shinn family was very honored and blessed to have Dr. Croci take care of us for over 30 years. Our love, prayers and gratitude go out to his family. The last time I saw Dr. Croci was at my mother's viewing which Dr. Croci so generously gave up his time to attend. I went up to him and informed him I had been living in California for many years and have had numerous doctors but I had found that there was never anyone like Dr. Croci. I told him, "There will never be another Dr. Croci in my life," as no one went beyond the call of duty as he did. Indeed what big shoes to fill--there will never be another Dr. Croci....

We had the privilege of having Dr. John Croci as our family health provider for 30+ years. I feel he truly lived and demonstrated how to be the best family doctor a person could have in their life. Dr. Croci was my doctor for 36 years. He was also the PCP for my entire family since 1977.
