John Leonard Burkitt Dalby

I only saw him once in my life,and it was a pleasure. I was in my 20's. His name has been part of my life ever since. This was in tha 70's when living in London. A friend advised me to see him and he welcomed me at his home. I sang a venezuelan song for him and he recorded it! Then he gave me advise on how to pronounce my Spanish words clearly and to project my voice and all!! A master class just for me! I have always kept this lovely memory in my heart! I wished I had contacted him long ago!Anyway! He's in my heart!!

I remember John as a talented, witty and amusing man. Our association was often connected with Evelyn Laye, with whom we both shared a friendship, and John being her teacher and accompanist. He will be greatly missed by so many of his friends.
My partner Peter and myself send our sincere condolences to John,
his partner, who, of course will miss him more than anyone. What an achievement to have had such a happy and loving relationship for
so many years. A lot to be proud of, and indeed to be grateful for, dear John. I hope this will be some comfort to you.
