JOHN FRANK, Sr.
Age 72, of White Oak, died Monday, October 9, 2017. He was born September 22, 1945, in McKeesport, the son of the late Thayer C. and Milda Schneider Dawson. John served in the U.S. Navy (Sea Bees, MCB6) during the Vietnam War and was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701. He was the owner of John Dawson Masonry Contracting until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Marsha J. Gillingham Dawson; sons, Philip T. (Susana) Dawson, of White Oak, John Frank Dawson, Jr., of Shaler, daughters, Fawn R. Tyler, of McKeesport, Adrian C. (Eugene) Berkoben, of Versailles Boro; sisters, Joan Porter, of Indiana, Leona (George) Jacob, of Liberty Boro, Mildred Dawson, of White Oak, brother, Thayer (Barbara) Dawson, of Barnesville, PA; grandchildren, Ashley Vines, Racheal Tyler, John F. Dawson III, David Antonio Oliva Dawson; great-grandchildren, Joshua Sager, Jacob Vines; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elva Jean Stegman and brother, William Dawson. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 1-6 p.m. at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor, 412-678-6177), where services will be held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Charles Owston officiating.
