Coach Demarco was so great. He helped me get into North Dakota State. He not only helped me but as lot of my teammates. Also took us to see University of Miami football games. I think about coach all the time. When I coached high school football I did the same for my players as he did for me. jeff Giersbrook Boca Raton hs class of 78

Coach Demarco was special. He was my coach at Boca Raton High School and a great role model and mentor. He had confidence in me to play college football. He contacted college coaches for me and he told me that coach wacker at North Dakota State liked me on film. divison 2 powerhouse back then. He was like a dad to me guiding me to be a student athlete. Seeing him call college coaches and networking helped me when I coached football at boca raton high school. I did just what he did. the season was not done until kids were playing ball somewhere. He also gave me his coaching shirt and pants and jacket. So thankful he provided the coaching gear. I started coaching at boca high fall of 82 middle of the year put it to good use. I felt honored to wear that big jacket on the sidelines.I worked at publix in high school and would call coach on my breaks knew his number and called him many times. We stayed in touch through the years if I had questions on coaching I could call him up.He would always send me a Christmas card every year. while coaching at chapel hill high in chapel hill, north Carolina I had one of my ex players came to help me coach defensive line. He came in the middle of the year he did not have a coaching shirt. I had an extra one for him.I wanted to do what COACH DEMARCO did for me. Will miss COACH DEMARCO.

Diane, feel the warmth and love from the Bobcat community that love you both so very much. You and John epitomize why the title of "Coach" means so much more than just an athletic instructor. What we learned from your lessons and by observing your behaviors have had a profound impact on our lives and the lives we touch as parents, grandparents, teachers and coaches.

May perpetual light shine upon our dearly departed, and may we that are left behind find solace in the knowledge of the peace John now has by being in the presence of Jesus Christ.

Coach was a very positive influence in my life, as well as for many others. Obviously I have been thinking about him a lot lately, but honestly thought about him often over the years. Disappointed I havent seen him in over 20 years now. Coach was honestly a guy who had so much confidence In himself, that he was able to make everyone feel special. He was especially connected to those who needed someone the most. The kind of person I strived to be, but didnt have quite the confidence to pull it off. Coach D was a special, special man. Rest In Peace. Love you
