JOHN T., III
Age 39, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of West Mifflin, on May 24, 2018. Born in McKeesport on December 21, 1978, he was the son of John T. (Jill) Derry Jr. of Tarpon Springs, FL and Debbie (Malloy) Derry of West Mifflin. Husband of his childhood sweetheart, Sadie (Richards) Derry, to whom he was married for 13 years; father of Eva Derry, age 9 and Levi Derry, age 4; grandson of Marcia (Late James) Malloy of West Mifflin and Margaret (Late John Sr.) Derry of West Mifflin; son-in-law of Thomas and Lola (Bowers) Richards of Jefferson Hills; brother of Kristopher (Jennifer) Derry of N. Huntingdon; brother-in-law of Britt (Joseph) Oliver of Jefferson Hills, and Grace (Brian) Dittman of Jefferson Hills. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Bentley. Visitation Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 2-8 at MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 412-466-3300 where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Chris Jerin of the Jefferson Hills Bible Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made for the children's education fund.

I'll never forget the summer after 5th grade, I said to John I'm bringing a friend to Kennywood that I want you to meet, he said he would bring a friend too. My friend...was Sadie. Over the next couple of years that friendship developed (we were in middle school) and eventually, it turned into the love of a lifetime, that most people can only dream of having. The first time I went to his parents house in 4th grade, he was so excited and proud to show us neighborhood kids, his back yard and trails. He always had this boyish, contagious, excitement. It drew everyone in. I had always loved seeing his drawings and talent way back when. He was so smart, creative, kind, sweet and most of all...dedicated and loving to Sadie, Eva, Levi, and his parents, brother, and In-Laws. He loved and supported his friends. Our whole group of friends are so blessed that we've all had so many amazing years together. The memories and stories we all have had with John and are many. We will continue to share and keep his memory alive. All of my love to both families.
