THE VILLAGES--- John W. Devlin passed away January 16, 2013 at the age of 78 in the Villages, Florida after his dauntless battle with cancer. John grew up in Boston, Mass. and loved the city as much as he loved life. With great dignity, John served in the US Coast Guard, and executed many search and rescues. John worked 30+ years for the Brockway Smith Company as a sales manager, a job that he truly enjoyed. John spent an amazing 54 years with his loving wife, Beverly (Chisholm) Devlin. Together, the two of them took on the world with such optimism that it was contagious.   John's favorite pastime was golf and he showed tremendous love for the game and his buddies at the Easton Country Club. He passed down this love for golf to his only surviving son, John Michael Devlin of Easton. The two of them shared many competitive matches together over the years. John proved to be the biggest fan of his two granddaughters, Brittany Devlin of Middleboro and Danielle Devlin of Taunton. He encouraged them throughout all of their soccer games as well as throughout life's endeavors. John was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life, demonstrating his compassion and happy-go-lucky attitude. He lived an incredibly fulfilling life and was fortunate enough to be able to experience traveling the world. John is predeceased by a son, Christopher Matthew Devlin, and is also  survived by his three sisters, Louise Kenny of Dedham, Jean Ann Lanzillo of Cape Cod, and Grace Connel of Boston.   Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
