Sad to think of the world without you, John. You were a gentleman and a friend to so many.

Mr. Dobson was one of the most generous people I have ever had the privilege to know. He has helped so many people in so many different ways. His passing marks the end of an era. My deepest sympathy to Mr. Dobson's family.

A sad day to lose a kind and great gentleman like John Dobson.A sadder day for the game of golf and Mt. Bruno, his two loves. I will always remember those Red slacks, Nona, 1/2 a salad please, and perhaps a wee liberation. Cheers to you John, you did it your way.

My deepest condolences to John's family. John was a close friend of my family's for well over a decade. He helped me greatly in my education and also gave me my one of my first work experiences through an internship at Formula Growth (he even gave me the opportunity to write up my investment recommendation for one company in particular - I wasn't too enthusiastic which he later told me was his view as well, the company soon went bankrupt).
John was unfailingly generous and kind-hearted, and he will be deeply missed.
All my sympathies,

John was one of those few people who through vision and practical tenacity made possible a much better understanding of the indispensable role of the entrepreneur.
He understood clearly that academic work is enlivened and enhanced by involving non-academic mentors and teachers.
He will be missed.
"Well done thou good and faithful servant."

John was a visionary, but more importantly a kind and giving human being. A nice man who put his money where his values were. He truly leaves a legacy.

John was a rotten golfer but always fun to play with. The last time I played with him as my partner we won, despite some awful shots. He was generous and kind and many people benefitted from knowing him and also many who didn't know him.

I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. We worked together to bring the Canadian Open back to Montreal in 1980. John was the General Chairman representing the RCGA and along with John Churchill-Smith ensured the financial and operating success of the Open. We stayed in touch for years and I value all of the very sound advice he gave me throughout my working career. He was a great Canadian, a great man and my all time favorite golf partner.

I am truly sad to hear about Mr. Dobson's passing. He helped me in many regards, from school to conversations at his office about my career, and was a close friend of my family (through my dad). My condolences to both his families, immediate and Formula Growth.

My deepest sympathies to Mr Dobson's family & close friends. I have been visiting Mr Dobson to care for our his left leg wound for the last 5 months; I was involved with him as his wound care nurse. I have been really impressed by this very kind man that continued to be passionate about golf, business and his close friend's activities despite being confined to his appartment. He always had kind words for everyone and although many things were disturbing him, he continued to maintain a good spirit. I really appreciated my Sunday visits with him. I was very concerned to see his health deteriorate gradually. I will always remember this very special & charming gentleman who treated everyone with respect.
