Today we put a wonderful man to rest. We know you are in a peaceful/wonderful place in Heaven. We will see you again one day Grandpa John Dolly.
My favorite memory of Grandpa, was when I was a child. He loved his riding mower and driving us around in the back basket. I remember him taking us up and down the neighborhood. Able to say hi to all the neighbors and then we would go down over the hills like a "roller coaster ride". Grandpa would just laugh the whole time and tell jokes. He did it multiple times a day because I always enjoyed it.
I also remember all the times into Ohio to visit the "corn" cuz it was different than KS corn. He would always say. Times by the Ravenswood River, times he would sing and play this guitar. All the fond memories of going to church or church / gospel sings. Going fishing with him in the ponds and just hanging out playing checkers. Grandpa would always try to "cheat at the game" and just giggle when I wasn't paying attention. Grandpa had many tricks up his sleeve. That joker. I will definitely miss him and his funny jokes. He always brought a smile to anyone's face and wasn't afraid to talk to strangers. RIP Grandpa.
I'm also thankful for you being able to meet Bryan and talk Gospel with him. I'm so glad yall got along. He's gonna miss you too. We love you always.

I will never forget John's sense of humor. The first time I met him he asked me if I wanted to see a picture of his pride and joy. I expected a picture of his children or grandchildren. When I looked at the picture it was a picture of a can of Pride Furniture Polish and a bottle of Joy Dishwashing Detergent. He got such a kick ot of fooling me. I am so sorry for his loss. He will be missed.

Uncle Johnny was one of a kind. Gentle, friendly, kind, wise, and full of life. He was great at Easter egg hunts, ramp digging, fishing, quoting the good book, and making everyone feel good. No one could tell a story or joke like uncle Johnny. He brought light and positive energy to every environment, even when he didn’t feel good. He was a great big brother to my dad (Jessie) and I will always admire him for that. There was a brother love bond that was beautiful. Even though they were both in their 80s they still talked for hours almost everyday. Sometimes 2-3 times. Sounded like two little fellas telling stories, reminiscing, and laughing. I often wondered if they would ever run out of things to talk about but that was never the case. That’s what sharing this life is all about, genuine caring and love. We will miss but never forget our love for Uncle Johnny. All our love to Uncle Johnny’s family and friends! So sorry but no doubt he is in heaven (telling jokes).
