One of the finest most logical man that l ever met. He did Peterborough tremendously well.

To the Doris Clan: I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere sympathy on the passing of your wonderful husband, father, friend. I have already been in touch with Kelly but I also wanted to send a message to all of you. What a great man! Lefty always made us feel so important and included. My favourite memory of him was how he was so interested in what you were up to and what you had to say. He would always provide those words of encouragement; "Good for you"!!! I know this is a difficult time for all of you. I am thinking about you as you celebrate a life well lived.

Sheila and family so very sorry to learn of Jack´s passing. Our connection goes way back on my families side as well as my in laws. I always loved running into both of you and catching up. So sorry to hear of Jack´s passing. He was "one of a kind" for sure. Always interested in how our family was doing and such a pleasure to talk to. So grateful to have known him. Our thoughts are with you.

I remember Jack helped me to get to know the city and all the resources when I moved to Peterborough in 1998

I remember doing a remote radio broadcast at a grocery store in the mid-90's to encourage people to fill a truck with groceries to help the less fortunate for Thanksgiving. I spotted His Worship Jack Doris quietly placing two bags of groceries in the truck before heading to his car to leave. I called him over to say a few words on-air even though that wasn't his reason for being there. What a classy human being. We desperately need that same class in our civic leaders today.

Jack was a wonderful man and will be truly missed by all. We all went to Saint Alphonsus together. Rest in Peace Jack

Dear Doris family. Sorry for your loss. Jack and my father worked at CGE for years, i was hired there in 1988 along with my brothers. Jack interviewed me for a position in the steel dept. Enjoyed my time playing slo pitch for the Steelers. Good days. RIP Jack. Darren and Lisa Jones
