What I remember most about Jack is his courage. He was one of the few quilt husbands who would come into a meeting and greet the quilters gathered there. He wouldn't stay long, mind you, but he faced our rowdiness without flinching!

Master Builder Number One
Lord, stand beside men who build ships
Grant them skill, strength, leadership
From centuries of strong shipwrights
Have come today´s naval insights
Sea Shadow born from brain and foam
Is one with God´s vast sea -- at home.
O Father, King of earth and sea
We dedicate our ship to thee
With faith, Sea Shadow´s on her way
Lord, keep her fit and safe we pray
And Broph, Master Builder Number One
You are the guy who got it done.

We are all saddened by our loss and Heaven's gain.
Words of condolence cannot convey the warmth and admiration I hold for Jack. I have been blessed and elevated in working for him and having him as a colleague.
As family and friends know only too well, Jack was Lockheed's finest program manager. Lockheed could always depend on Jack to lead teams to successful technical and financial conclusions. As Chief Engineer for the Sea Shadow program, Jack was the driving force in bringing the first-ever stealth naval ship
in to being. USS Sea Shadow was a major engineering and scientific step forward in the design and building of modern naval combatant ships.
And the large, loving, close-knit Brophy family is a tribute to Jack and Jeanne together -- with the children, their families and extended "relatives".
I salute a Man of Character, grand leadership, strength and warmth
In the common love we share
Charles Wiseman

One summer many many many years ago I was able to visit Grammy and Grandaddy with all my cousins. We were going to send time at the beach as a family and Grammy & Grandaddy wanted us to figure out what things we wanted to bring for entertainment. Grandaddy, seeing that my brother and I didn't get to bring too much on our trip, decided he would have all of us grandkids make our own boogie boards. The memories of building it, painting it, and then showing off our skills to him are always enough to make me smile and remember how thoughtful he was.
