John B. Fell

SOUTH BEND - John B. Fell, 51, residing in South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Saturday at Hospice House, South Bend, IN. He was born on February 17, 1961, in South Bend, IN, to LaVon and RaeLee (Wilson) Fell. On November 16, 1985, he married the former Shirley S. Vinson. John had been ill since 1999, and gave us many bad moments when we thought we would lose him. He really was the ultimate "Cubs" fan. He enjoyed listening to the games while sitting next door with his friends and neighbors, Kenny, Dave and Richard. They were known to enjoy a few cold ones while enjoying listening to the game. John was a painter before he became ill. John is survived by his wife, Shirley; parents, LaVon and RaeLee Fell of Mishawaka; son, John D. Fell of South Bend; stepchildren, Tina (Frank) Gonzalas of Mishawaka and D.J. Montgomery of Texarkana, TX; grandchildren, James and Jordan Fell; nine step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Annette Rickey of South Bend, Janet (Greg) Henderson of Vancouver, WA, and his brother, Rick (Julie) Fell of Mishawaka. John was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Tammy Singleton. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
