Carol and family. Thinking of your family as the time passes. John was a big part of my beginning career at BCWP in 1967 and always a pleasure to be around. Mr Trivia and Pinball Man. Always an uplifting person to share life and family experiences. Sending all my love and great memories of John.

Dear Carol and Family:
It is with deep sadness that I learned of John's passing. John was a big part of my early career at Blue Cross and served as a mentor in those early years. I can honestly say that I do not ever recall John being angry or bitter during the years that I knew him closely. He was such a knowledgeable person in so many things and will never forget his ability to quote a baseball statistic when asked. He was always so proud of his family and smiled the whole time when we talked about families. His smile and humor made him a very special person. He will always be a great memory to me and many others who worked with him at the Blues.
My prayers and sympathy go out to your entire family on your loss of John.

Carol and family,
We were so very saddened to hear of John's sudden passing. We have so many fond memories of him at our Missions lunches and meetings. He was so very passionate about Missions and always remembered so much about our work in Spain. He was truly a man of God.
We will be praying for you all. May you feel the Lord's comfort in these weeks and months.
Blessings,
Ken and Carolyn Muckle

I have lived across the street from John for more than 15 years. I told him I was away last Novemeber in New York to work assisiting FEMA and he said yes I knew you were gone. He said the Sandy storm stopped him from his yearly vacation. He would come out on his porch every morning humming, rain or shine. He lived his whole life living. He joyfully yelled over at me a few months ago that he was running again to be the Taxman. I told him back-"you need something to do with all that energy you have". He laughed. He was always good with jokes giving them and hearing them. One of the last times I seen him he was carrying a little gift bag( which I later read it was possibly his for wedding anniversary). No one can fill his shoes but he certainly was a great example of how we all should live.
God Speed John, from Theresa and Sarah and Rose Davis. My daughters are also saddened.

John served on the board of directors of the Pittsburgh Boychoir for many years supporting his son, Andrew, who was in the choir. His wife, Carol, a brilliant teacher, was our Summer Training Conference Director and also a Tour Chaperone on several tours. John always made me laugh and I will appreciate the help they gave to the choir. So sorry for your loss!

Although I never met John, as a tax preparer in Mt. Lebo, I would often call the tax office for info. John would always brighten my day with kindness and humor. My sincere sympathy to his family for their significant loss.

There was a pin ball machine 2 blocks from Blue X at Smithfield & the Boulevard of the Allies. John didn't wear it out altogether, but not for lack of trying; how many memories?!? God bless 1 & all. Take care.
