FERRARO JOHN J.
Of Sharpsburg, age 93, passed away on January 9, 2015, at Autumn Ridge Assisted Living in Monroeville. John was born on December 3, 1921, the son of the late Anthony and Elina Defide. He was a resident of Sharpsburg from 1947 until his death. He was a WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy in the North Atlantic. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union and worked as a Pile Driver for over 40 years and was an active member of Madonna of Jerusalem Church for many years. John was preceded in death by his son, PFC David A. Ferraro, killed in action in Vietnam, June 30, 1966; his wife, Margaret passed in August 2013. He is survived by a son, John, daughter-in-law, Holly; four grandchildren, David, Brian, Michael, Cheryl; and six great-grandchildren. Friends received Monday 5-7 p.m. at WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Sharpsburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Juan Diego Parish in Madonna of Jerusalem Church Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
